Not sure I believe the official line from the club that he has a calf injury.

Must be a pretty bad one if he hasn’t been anywhere near training all season.

Hope I am wrong on this, but fearing there is something else going on here which is being kept under wraps.

Either way, we need him back pronto.

Agreed
I have been saying the for a couple of weeks, very odd indeed

It also kept him out of the Scotland squad. He is clearly not fit enough to play. Why does everything have to be a conspiracy?

He's probably avoiding the Covid jabs.

I’m not saying it’s a conspiracy.

I am just doubtful that it’s a calf injury.

Think he has a calf injury, which are an absolute bugger to sort. I had one a few years ago and even with physio couldn’t run on it for 8 weeks or so. Sometimes people need to realise muscle injuries can take ages to heal and there’s no quick fix. In many cases a simple fracture is quicker than something like a nasty sprained ankle or calf tear.

Why would they say it is if it is something else?

All sorts of things have been covered up by a number of clubs over the years with players missing games when they don’t have a physical injury, but there are other things going on like mental health issues, addictions etc etc.

Just easier for the club to say they have an injury.

I started getting suspicious when I saw rumours of him returning to a Scottish club in the transfer window, when there was surely no feasible way that a Scottish club would have been able to afford him.

Even accounting for the usual hysteria surrounding transfer rumours, it just didn’t stack up.

The rumours were just that, nonsense and have been discredited. He is injured, that is all.

Some valid points Pat, but how long does a calf strain go on for?

I take back my reply to Pat below re calf strain!

Glad I didn't get in to physio for a career!

The club have been very coy.
Personal issues or mental illness maybe🤔
Something not quite right..

And so they should.
The manager telling all who is injured and/or unavailable 2 days before the game in his press conference is wrong.
Let the opposition know an hour before kick off when the team sheets go in.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

Yes but saying he will be ready in 1 or 2 weeks then he still isn't 4 weeks later isnt great either

Ralph tends not to say too much in press conferences unless he is stating the obvious, so he will confirm a long term injury is still out, but he won't say much about short term ones, if you want to keep the opposition guessing then you have to be upfront about the things they know anyway.

Rumours start quickly on social media, one started on here on Saturday after Sky Sports discussing Jack Stephens being out through injury, someone suggested that Oriol Romeu could convert to centre half.

That started a rumour that Salisu was an injury doubt and Saints were so desperate they were going to play Romeu there, despite the fact that Ralph had said that other than the long term players everyone was fit, and has never mentioned Romeu as a potential central defender ,so that didn't come from him.

Ralph says he has a calf injury. Not sure that is being coy? Walcott also has a calf injury and he isn’t back yet.

But Theo is training again
Though he is the last player we need near our first team right now

Then I assume that Armstrong will be back training very soon if he is to be fit enough to turn out for Scotland.

From today's press conference, he is back in training. Ralph less than enthusiastic about his importance to Saints. Be surprised if he plays on Saturday and then heads off to play for Scotland. Big sure Ralph is his biggest fan for whatever reason.

Yes very odd
Seems Ralph prefers creative types with no actual end product IE Djenepo Theo Redders but ignores Tella and Stu
