King Athelstan
Both are honoured in the City with roads or streets named after them, we also have Victoria Road, King Georges Avenue, I dont think we have one for Queen Elizabeth II although Second Avenue on Millbrook Industrial street could be lengthened to honour her

I don't think there's a shortage of QE2 names and then of course there's also the Elizabeth and Jubilee Lines.
More to the point, I'd quite like people's views on the 'Elizabeth the Great' sobriquet and please, discount Johnson's use of this if it offends.

Personally if people wanted to call her Elizabeth The Great I would not be worried, but I think it would wind a few people up. we have to accept that for some they think it is obscene that they have so much money etc and to be honest the situation with Prince Andrew did the monarchy a lot of harm and for that matter the Princess Dianna events 25 years ago were not great for the way the Royal Family initially reacted either.
King Charles I think is about to throw a spanner (or a spaniel) in the works with his downsizing plan for the royal family, perhaps that will modernise it.
I read an article over the weekend that pointed out that some of the most successful nations in Europe are those that have a constitutional monarch, as it is a way of keeping Governments & Presidents in check and holding them to account.
