You get a sense that the SR are trying to break the Prem mould and spendwisely rather than wildly, but since everyone else has spent wildly, we've found ourselves bottom and and now we've started to splash the cash to try and escape the bottom three. It's a bit of cliche but you can't help but wonder when this madness will end. I would love to see a more even spread of the TV money into both the Prem and the Championship and therefore reduce the absolute panic at the idea of dropping into the 2nd tier. This would give clubs time to nurture the young talent and their disposal and build a proper team rather than ditch them to a lower league club and bring in players who often end up no better than what you've already got. The likes of Lallana and Shneiderlin were excellent players for us because we gave them time in the lower leagues to learn their trade and get confident. They probably woudnt get the same chance if they were young kids coming through at Saints now.

It will happen when there is either enough money in it or the PL runs out of the stuff. Money is pretty exhaustible - we all know that and Football can go out of fashion. The boom will end when somebody else gets the key to the imperial wardrobe.
