| As Blackmore sees it - Jones has to go on 15:25 - Feb 5 with 1470 views | DorsetIan | That’s a big intervention by Blackmore. The situation would be bad but this level of toxicity has been brought on entirely by Jones and his deranged statements. | |

The way that the experienced Dyche professionally and expertly lifted the doom at Goodison in one game was very impressive. We need a similar intervention or we are down and the place will be toxic. I wonder if the owners will act. Give the job to Adkins until the end of the season. That would be a breath of fresh air. [Post edited 5 Feb 2023 15:31]

Although Adkins still clearly has the passion and feelings for the club, he's never managed in the Prem either and that could be an issue with what is needed Just reading the thread made me think. Def not sure if the answer, but how about a bit of humble pie and bring Wreck it Ralph back? Haven't a clue if that is the answer, but FFS, look where we are right now. As Blackmore has said, Ralph has a lot of feeling for the club, and although only a couple of months out of the firing line, he may have learnt a few lessons? Thoughts?

I actually agree with you. I know this has been discussed to death, but Ralph loved the club, wasn't given the necessary resources to be successful and as Blackmore who is on the inside said, he has his respect, whereas Jones doesn't. Many would disagree but I would have him back. We had some disasters under Ralph, but we also had some great times. Had Ralph been given the striker he was promised, I think he would still be here today. [Post edited 5 Feb 2023 15:43]

Moyes went back to WH and did well. The mood on Saturday would certainly be electric rather than toxic if Ralph is in charge. On balance though, I think we need to find someone new.

I thought Adkins was a pretty good manager in the Premier League and remember that Saints fans were shocked when he was sacked after his last game, an impressive 2-2 draw at Chelsea at the end of a five-match unbeaten run, although most got over that when Pochettino turned out to be even better, Admittedly, Adkins hasn't done much since so he wouldn't be my choice to replace Jones. He couldn't possibly be worse than him though.
