Totton Go Top 08:53 - Mar 29 with 864 viewsSaintNick

All that was needed was a win to go top, but a decent crowd given the constant light rain saw Totton smash 7 past Paulton Rovers with no reply, to send them top on a goal difference that is now 14 better than Sholing.

The season only has a little over 3 weeks to go with Sholing having 5 games left and Totton 8, they just have to keep their heads now

I don't know much about local football. Which league and division would they get promoted to?
I also guess that at these levels you get promoted to a level where all the other teams pay more than you, so your progress stops. So much like the premier league then...

It’s Souther league South, Div 1 (which is the one above the Wessex Premier), which if Totton get promoted will send them to the souther league south premier, and the league above that is the national league.
But yeah around the progressing your right, as it’s the same for all levels of the game, even Sunday leagues, as I’ve seen them have great players in the lower divisions who then moved to the better ones in the higher divisions. As everyone wants to play for the best team they can and get the best outta it that they can, whether it’s Sunday leagues to Wessex leagues to the prem.

As it happens at all levels of the game, but like the leagues themselves, the higher a player/team gets, the larger the area expands for teams that they want/want their players becomes, at all levels, ages and qualities of football

Paulton Rovers? Aren’t they the fellas that go round picking up the litter at Peppa Pig World?

Plus the higher up the non-league ladder you go the further travelling you do, even when it’s split North & South.
Which can put a strain on part timers getting time off work.

Throw in more expense for the clubs too.
My local club are trying to raise £65k for a new stand to comply with current rules on seating.

It’s money, money, money.

They drew at home last night with Darlington.
A 7 hour, 400 mile round trip on a Tuesday night. 😱

At least Boxing Day and NYD are local derbies.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.
