| Man U diving, Arsenal diving, Man City diving 11:49 - Apr 24 with 1404 views | saint901 | Has the league and the FA Cup become about who is best at diving. I saw some of the Saints game v Arsenal and either most of the Arse players are top heavy and can fall over easily, or they were working to a plan Man U yesterday v Brighton (who I thought were the better team) were at it. Fernandes especially (but that was expected) but others had a go as well, Martial, Rashford, Anthony. City, not much better - at least until the game was won. It that was a penalty, we should see a dozen in every game. One of the (many) frustrations about watching Saints this season has been the antics of certain players and the absolute failure of the authorities to do anything about it. And they could. A player leaving the pitch for an "injury" should be in the care of the 4th official and not be allowed to return for say three minutes. I guarantee that the number of times we sfootball.ee injuries will drop like a stone. Goalkicks should be taken within 45 seconds of the ball going out of play. If not indirect free kick to the opposition on the edge of the box. (And why was Bazunu booked for time wasting when Pickford is a world class cheat at this?) I really hope the Championship is a little less about gamesmanship (aka cheating) and more about some | | | | |

It used to be (I believe) 6 seconds, but I'm guessing the goalkeeping union didn't like it so they must have changed the rule as no one takes any notice of that now (that's one for SFC Ref)

| Man U diving, Arsenal diving, Man City diving on 15:04 - Apr 24 with 1223 views | kingslandstand1 | You forgot to add Newcastle to that list and the little sh1t Howe for the way he plays the cheating rule really well. They clearly feign injuries when it suits, and he actually coaches it as has been well documented. He then gets his number 2 to persistently pester the 4th official. It was even discussed briefly on Talksport this morning with Martin Keown saying how well he plays it, although he was against it as it is cheating But NUFC are now officially applying for the Top 6 club due to their sudden financial position so can grease the palms of the EPL and do what they like | |

Nah it is still under the LOTG and should be punished by an indirect free kick, but much like foul throw ins, it’s gotta be ridiculous for prem refs to give them, as almost all refs agree that they should change the law from 6 seconds to “what the ref deems as too long” or something, as I myself have only given an indirect free kick twice for that, last of which was actually at staplewood. But they were for the keeper holding it for like 20 seconds, clearly delaying the restart of play, and who is shouted to get a move on 3 times before giving the foul. But yeah that is a law that needs updating

| Man U diving, Arsenal diving, Man City diving on 13:30 - Apr 25 with 1035 views | TimSaint | It happens throughout the Prem and every team will have their own culprits. Spurs have been diving since Klinsman arrived. Danny Rose was a master at it, now that Dele Alli has moved on, it is mainly Son and Kane, with support from a few others. Wolves have loads who do it, especially that little cvnt Podence. Raul Jimenez is a massive diver and time waster. Brentford do it too. Even Toney is a master at orchestrating free kicks etc. My issue is that all these players seem to be the Golden Boys of football and because they are international players, or well liked at their teams, they seem to be able to get away with so much. Look at Bruno Fernandez at United, arguing every decision in the Ref's face, shoves a linesman, wastes time, kicks the ball away, but gets away with everything. It is like they are too scared to book him, or for the FA to look into things. Similarly Liverpool. Every decision against them has players surrounding the Ref. They get away with a lot more than most and even time wasting, kicking the ball away and stopping a quick throw-in all go unpunished against Forest at the weekend. Still if Klopp is allowed to run onto the pitch to celebrate a goal by hugging his keeper on the centre spot and only get an £8k fine, then we know virtually nothing will be given against them for other infringements. | |

| Man U diving, Arsenal diving, Man City diving on 14:34 - Apr 25 with 1015 views | saint901 | Kicking the ball away is another unnecessary and infuriating thing that many PL players do. Utd were doing it a lot in the semi final and the ref did nothing. In my playing days (when everything was in black and white) I chased a ball down the line, with the winger in close attendance, got there first and basically put my foot through it and it was sent a long way out into the recreation park we were playing in. I got booked for that. Apparently it was ungentlemanly conduct. I appealed - and got my booking confirmed and a mark on my record. Even today that rankles. But if I was a PL player I could kick the ball away and then stand two feet in front of the free kick until my pals were ready - and get nothing. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Yeah well lots of it is down to game management for officials, but yeah players do get away with far too much which is why I myself and other refs, can’t do as much about it at grassroots level as everyone then just compares us to the prem. As things like this have gotta change at the top and work it’s way down for things to be able to change. As delaying the restart of play through time wasting and kicking the ball away should almost always be dealt with, it’s just in all fairness you don’t always need cards. As sometimes players only end up doing it to themselves as there is a place and time to do it, as a player kicking away a ball/taking their time shouldn’t always be cautioning, but at the same time it still should certainly be dealt with a lot better than it is today

| Man U diving, Arsenal diving, Man City diving on 15:57 - Apr 25 with 986 views | saint901 | I for one am hoping that the Championship is a little more honest and we see less cheating. I suspect however that I'll be disappointed and that the players will be just as bad and aided by perhaps not the best refs, we will continue seeing players go down without contact, clutching their face and doing their best to get others sent off. Football definitely needs the same citing system rugby has. Review of each game, post match, by an official not connected and pick up any obvious cheating or simulation. Can't dish out yellow/reds but can put a demerit point against the club (similar to cricket) and once a club reaches a limit = points deduction. The clubs can stop simulation and cheating overnight if the authorities wanted them to. | | | |

Just look at the penalty awarded to Luton in the Championship last night. Not even the slightest hint of contact, yet the Luton striker dived, 'won' the penalty, it was scored, it put them 2-1 up and they went on to win 2-1. Totally the wrong decision and proved costly. Mind you, it happens in the Prem even with VAR. Just look at Brighton away to Spurs the other week. So many piss poor decisions by the ref and VAR regarding penalties and offsides etc, yet nothing gets done about it apart from Brighton get an apology from the FA. Big deal. Those decisions could ultimately cost them a place in Europe (at possibly Spurs' expense).
