From watching a few of last seasons game played by RM's team, it seems we're in for a season of pass, pass, pass, pass and pass. Very little in the way of direct play, little counterattacking and perhaps more, pass, pass, pass.
I hope it works and that the opposition allow us to score even if just to liven up the game.
Seriously I think perhaps half the teams in the Champ will fall for this tactic and perhaps half will not. So mid table.
Is mid table a successful season?
For the owners I think it may be because it halts the decline that started three seasons ago.
For the fans though, are we going to be happy with a team that keeps the ball but lacks the fire and passion that you sometimes need to win games? Would we prefer a bolder tactic where we don't mind letting in two goals because we can score three?

RM teams do let in 2 to score 3, but somehow seem to miss out the entertainment bit.
As a fan, there's probably nothing worse than watching a team try to play possession football when they're not very good at it. Very frustrating. That may become an issue as the season progresses.
Even when they're good at it, I'd rather watch a 1970s style blood and thunder, "get stuck in" type contest than a highly skilful Spanish league tiki-taka game for entertainment, but maybe that's just me. | | | |

Entertainment for me is watching one touch pass and move that was the style under Lawrie McMenemy .
We didn’t always win but it was entertaining and hard to play against. | | | |
