5 Things About Plymouth 20:42 - Aug 20 with 1351 viewsSaintNick

1 Beware of drones ! I was attacked by one which could have been sent by Putin or a teenage idiot flying it over a pub beer terrace, one or the other, I may not have actually been the intended victim, Pat From Poole was on the table behind it might have been sent by Russell Martin It had all the hallmarks of Rustydrone .

2. Plymouth appears to be built on a number of hills, you were either walking up one or walking down one.

3, Saints fans were superb, when the home fans chanted James Ward Prowse left you because tou were sh*t, it was quickly silenced by Jack Stephens left you because you were shit.

4. British rail announcers were on top form, when the announcement of the 6.57 train to Cardiff was arriving was greeted by a chorus of boos by 400 Saints fans on Central station waiting to get on it, the announcer said "Good luck in Plymouth, bring back the 3 points. No Pompey fans were harmed in this scenario.

5. The station announcer at Westbury on getting a similar crescendo of boos as the train to Portsmouth Harbour was announced, said "Come on its stopping at Southampton as well.

I think the drone may have been meant for me, but the culprit was a mate of Sekou, who I understand had been mentoring the lad on accuracy…..

The thing I really noticed was all the trees that been cut down in the city centre and were surrounded by heras fencing.

I had been told about it earlier in the day, hadn’t realised it was such a big story in the news.

It was very odd; I couldn’t understand why they hadn’t been removed; they were all just there on the ground.

But yes, a great day.

1. Plymouth is really f*cking far away, gave me a new respect for their travelling support
2. Football is fun again, and it's great to see teams actually try and win games instead of losing them
3. Home Park is a cracking football ground, one of the noisiest i've been to in a while and the main stand is wonderful, like something from a subutteo game
4. Ignoring the weather forecast and wearing a jacket was, in hindsight, a mistake
5. Our fans really, really need to stop singing about libraries, it's so f*cking tinpot and wasn't even close to being true on saturday

Id forgotten how far it is, Exeter by road is 46 miles, Bournemouth 127 miles, Southampton 151 miles, people think as its on the South Coast its quite near. But Leicester is nearer (just)

Even Bristol is 120 miles

Probably closer as the crow flies from Poole than it is from Southampton.

But is an hour further on the train....

A long day, but a great day.
