To date neither of them have started a match for their new clubs. Livramento had a couple of minutes as a sub & Lavia has not even been in the squad at Chelsea. Apparently Lavia is not match fit after having an uninterrupted pre season training & game time for Saints how can he not be match fit, or is the Saints training regime not tough enough. Interesting because most of our players have been well off the pace so far, perhaps RM should increase the intensity of the training sessions & toughen our bunch up ready for the demands of the physical side of the Championship.

Even when the injury-racked Danny Ings first arrived here from Liverpool, he appeared superfit compared to our other players. The same was true when Broja first arrived here from Chelsea. Pochettino doubled the training sessions when he arrived here and that was the first time our players were as fit and possibly even fitter than those of the top clubs. Increased trainiing sessions mean more hard work for the managers and coaches too and not all of them want that. [Post edited 8 Sep 2023 10:44]

Exactly fitness hasnt been our problem, concentration has been more of an issue. Dirk cites Danny Ings as being an example of being superfit when compared to the rest of the squad, but that was 5 years and 5 managers ago, the coaching staff has changed several times since then

Not anyone has praised the possession style of play that RM preaches.

It's probably caused by all the extra training & fitness work Chelsea are making him do. I sometimes wonder whether they do too much in training, a large percentage of injuries occur in training sessions.
