Seems to me, in the championship anyway. That the taker basically has to try and shoot towards goal. When you have around 14 players in such a tight space, then anything can happen.
I can’t remember this being an issue before, normally corners would end up around the 6 yard area.
For me it’s a bit Sunday league playing like that.
Definitely not pretty to watch.

Exactly, leave at least a couple of quick players on halfway line when defending corners..
Those forward players are more of a hindrance in their than a help when defending corners.
They just get in the way of your big defenders, there is far too many players of both sides in the box, it's just a melee.
Leaving 2 players on halfway line means that the opposition need to leave at least 3 players back to counteract a breakaway.
So refreshing to see that Tonda used this ploy on Saturday, just hope he continues with it.
Also it looks like some common sense is coming back to the game, the long throw is back, less playing out from the back & now playing the game in opposition half its got to be good for players / fans & results. | | | |
