Have we really only just realised this? Football has been corrupt and gone for a decade and more. Sky sports ruined it, but what shocks me most is people still keep paying them. Stop! The only way to get the game back is to stop supplying them with the funds they need to sell the advertising and sponsorship they need. |  | | |

A guy on Tsport this morning made the point that, not sure how it comes across in the rest of the UK, but in Scotland they know you play until either Celtic or Rangers win!

Nah. VAR just make some bad decisions because they focus on technicalities instead of common sense and forget about "clear and obvious". For referees then, under extreme pressure, it's a lot easier to agree with VAR rather than tell them they're wrong.
Referees have always had a bias towards home teams, due to the crowd, and that effect is stronger for bigger clubs with bigger crowds. But there's no evidence of VAR being part of some corrupt conspiracy, in fact the opposite:

VAR decisions are scrutinised every which way by an independent panel. In England it's the KMI panel which is mostly made up of ex players and coaches:

Scottish football has an equivalent. Bad decisions get monitored and highlighted. If there was any corruption there would have to be so many people involved, it wouldn't work.
The bias is mostly in supporter's heads. It's called "confirmation bias". We only notice and remember the examples that confirm our existing biases. It's a well known bit of psychology that applies to everyone. |  | | |
