Agree. This style of football will not work against the top teams in the world. Our record against teams in the top 10 is not that good. All the possession last night, with tippy / tappy football on half way line, and we still gift 2 goals through errors. I am not sure Southgate learned anything new from the 2 friendlies. I really do struggle watching England games these days. |

If that is the case, why not do some other design. Did they really have to mess with the national flag/identity and make a point of deliberately changing the flag. As other posters have pointed out, they would not have done this with the US flag. [Post edited 22 Mar 17:58]

Nike made announcement today about pressure on revenue. This was before they pulled this marketing stunt. This was unnecessary, although it is not the first time they have got involved in political controversy or perceived social injustices. In 2018 they backed Colin Kaepernick (former US NFL player), who took the knee during national anthem. They faced a big backlash on social media and it affected their share price for a while. These companies do not learn. The list of those who have gone down this route have been hit hard, including Bud light (who are still suffering), Ben and Jerrys, Coca Cola / Pepsi, Disney to name a few. Just seen picture of Harvey Elliott, who pulled his collar up to hide flag. Be interesting to see if any of the senior team follow suit ? |

Anyone know of a spare ticket for Ipswich game, please contact me. In return, I will refrain from moaning about Jack Stephens and Manning for a couple of weeks :) |

I agree Rothwell saved the day with his brace just after he came on (73 mins), but I didn't see the need to take Smallbone and Brooks off so early (58 mins), when we were in total control. It just seemed like change for the sake of change and disrupted the rhythm of the team. |

Only happened to me once - Boxing Day (I think ?) many years ago against Charlton. That was about 1hr before kick off. [Post edited 6 Mar 18:04]

What a load of Bol**cks, saying, 'it's all about getting players on the pitch'. This isn't the under 11's where you want to give everyone a game because they turned up for training ! As for comment that Jack is so smooth on the ball. It's not hard passing it sideways and backwards all the time, or standing there inviting players to close you down quickly. I just don't get Martin's love in with Stephens, and maintain we should play best defensive players available, in their best positions. [Post edited 6 Mar 7:56]

I agree, It is unlikely that cash will decrease by £1 million in my example, as the fee would likely be spread over a number of years. I was simply answering the question asked about accounting. We obviously will only get what is agreed in the contract terms. |

Players are considered an "intangible Asset". Which is slightly confusing as Intangible assets usually relate to assets like copy right, intellectual property etc. They appear in balance sheets at long term assets, calculated using the purchase price and any amortisation, where the contact is amortised over the period of the contract. When a club buys a players (say £1m) , their Intangible assets will increase by £1m and cash decrease by £1m. |

This financial statement doesn't include many of the big sales, e.g. Lavia, JWP etc and players wages off the books, as this was after these were produced. This will be reflected in next years results, so it should make better reading. |

If the impact of the so called '1st teamers' , Adams, KWP, Armstrong, and Smallbone were anything to to go by when they came on last night, I still don't think we would have won. I thought when the subs came on, we looked worse. |

Smallbone only been on 8 minutes, and is having a nightmare. He looks all over the place and gave ball away for their 2nd. I would have left Rothwell on. |

Shame about the goal late on, but some good performances out there tonight. Even Stephens has done well, and I rarely say that. Agree with earlier comment, there have quite a few wayward passes and slow to react, most noticeably from Charles and Bree. With better finishing we could have 2 or goals. Still in this. More of same in 2nd half, |

Teams have just worked us out now. They realise we don't carry much threat going forward, happy to just sit back and hit us on break or wait for an opportune set piece. So predictable. |

2-1 down chasing the game and Manning is coming on ! Should help increase our possession stat from 82%, with a few more negative passes. [Post edited 24 Feb 16:36]

Agree. We seemed to mess around a lot more tonight in and around penalty area. Inviting Hull to press and wait for the inevitable mistake. [Post edited 20 Feb 21:54]

It was while it lasted - Ipswich 4-3 |

Better 2nd half. Had we got our goal earlier it could have been different, RM must start Brooks now. He is one of the few players that creates things and causes problems for defenders. Hull played well, but we made it easy for them with that 1st half display. |
