![]() Saturday, 3rd Nov 2007 10:51 Saints board have warned that financial cuts are inevitable, unless they accept the SISU offer. The Saints board have warned that funding is desperately needed before the January transfer window, otherwise player sales will be neccessary to balance the books. Although administration has been mentioned in some papers, this doesnt seem to be a real possibility, however Saints cannot continue on their current financial track and need to make cuts and the simplest way would be to sell players. In a week when the three men who hold Saints future in their hands, Lowe, Crouch and Wilde, seem to be opposed to the SISU deal, the Saints Executives are now trying to put the situation on the line for Supporters, it seems if the Exec's are to be believed, that the Club has only two choices, take the money and put in a credible promotion push, or reject it and see the Club slip down the league as they cuth their cloth to match the profile of a mid table championship side. Now of course the Executives would paint this picture, after all they want the deal to go through, it is now down to the Unholy Alliance to decide if this is the right course, its time for all the ego's to be put to one side and the facts of the matter to be debated properly. For supporters of course it is a dilemma, most would prefer for the Club to be owned by someone with its best interests at heart, however we have to accept that if we want a return to the Premier in the near future, then that division is full of clubs owned by businessmen and corporations who have no real connection with the Clubs they own, sadly that is football today. The alternative is to restructure the club and build it up in a manner that would see the supporters with a bigger say in the matter by becoming shareholders, however in past share rights issues, their seems little appetite from fans to own the Club, would that change now. The clubs future is at stake, the board have put out hard facts as to the financial position, dcisions have to be made fast, whilst those decisions are still in our hands.    Photo: Action Images via Reuters Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
