Important Covid Plan B Info For Fans Attending Games With Immediate Effect.
Monday, 13th Dec 2021 22:25

Southampton Football club have issued a very important update on what fans are going to need to do if they wish to attend either the game at Crystal Palace on Wednesday or Brentford at St Mary's on Sunday.

For the benefit of Saints supporters we print the following statement issued by the club this evening

Southampton Football Club has tonight received guidance from the Premier League outlining that supporters will likely be required to pre-register their Covid-19 status and be ready to show their NHS COVID pass in order to attend games.

The club wanted to make fans aware of the protocol changes at the earliest opportunity, and will share further details tomorrow (Tuesday 14th December) so that fans can make themselves match ready for future games.

It is anticipated that from Wednesday 15th December onwards, fans over the age of 18 attending Premier League fixtures, including that evening’s match against Crystal Palace, will be required to:

- Pre-register their Covid-19 status before attending
- Show their Covid-19 status on arrival at the stadium

Fans that are unable to show their NHS COVID Pass or proof of a negative NHS COVID test, taken within the previous 48 hours, risk being denied entry to Premier League grounds.

Supporters are asked to wear a face covering in all indoor areas and on public transport when travelling to and from games, and are asked to stay at home if they have any Covid-19 symptoms.

Fans that have bought tickets for upcoming matches will receive an email from info@saints-comms.com with full information on how to prepare for attending our away fixture at Crystal Palace on Wednesday 15th December and our home game against Brentford on Saturday 18th December — make sure you save info@saints-comms.com as a safe sender and check your junk mail. Full details will also be published on the club website.

Supporters are encouraged to log in to their ticketing account here to check their email address and other details are up to date.

Full details on what match-going supporters will need to provide, including the form for fans to pre-register their Covid-19 status, will be confirmed as soon as we are able to, and we would like to thank fans for their patience.

We fully appreciate that supporters might have further questions at this point and we encourage fans to check Saints Live for the latest updates.

I hope they offer refunds or credit.

Given the club’s historical organisational track record, recent examples of which include late supply of everything from shirts to season tickets, at kick off time there will probably be more players on the pitch than spectators in the ground.

Lets hope our players are not too socially distanced tomorrow night - particularly at the back. Happy with a point.

The Brentford match is Saturday, not Sunday as mentioned above.
Is it me, but I have looked at the official website, but can't see any mention of theCovid admission procedure. I think it's a messy website, and not particularly easy to navigate. Also, still haven't received any email covid update yet.
