Southampton Eyeing Bargain Buy Goalkeeper Thursday, 12th May 2022 14:23 Saints are said to be eyeing a bargain buy International goalkeeper in the summer according to Italian media sources, find out who they are being linked with and the lowdown on the player himself here. The man in question is Polish international Bartlomiej Dragowski. who is currently at Fiorentina who due to injury dropped down the pecking order at the Serie A club. After breaking into the first team as first choice back in 2019/20 season he spent two seasons as first choice keeper at the club, he started this season as again the number 1, but after getting suspended for a red card and then picking up a hamstring injury that kept him out for 2 months when he returned after the winter break he found himself on the bench. Now he is about to enter the final year of his contract and Fiorentina have accepted that they are going to have to sell him now rather than risk losing him as a free agent in the summer of 2023. Dragowski who stands at 6ft 3 inches will turn 25 in August and has that right combination for a keeper of youth and experience having played 81 Serie A games for Fiorentina, another 14 on loan at Empoli, as well as 64 times for Jagiellonia BiaÅ‚ystok who play in the top league in Poland. He has been capped just the once for Poland, but is seen as one for the future, Fiorentina don't want to lose him, but they know that it will be hard to stand in his way and that they will lose him for next to nothing in a years time. The fee being quoted is around the £10 million mark which could turn out to be a bargain for a keeper who has been number 1 for his club and only lost his place through injury and was unable to regain it due to the good form of his rival between the sticks.
