Big Crowd Expected For Walsall FA Cup Fixture As 3 More Blocks Opened
Friday, 5th Jan 2024 15:35

Southampton are expecting a crowd in excess of 25,000, with the news that they have now opened up 3 more blocks in the Chapel Kop and many other areas are already sold out.

Saints have opened up blocks 17, 18 & 19 in the Chapel Kop and already around a quarter of these, 2,400 tickets have already been sold, and in other areas of the ground opened so far only around 1,000 or so remain with most in other areas bar the Chapel corners seemingly sold out.

With a big walk up on the day expected we could be heading for a 25k plus crowd.

Saints are yet to open blocks 13-16 & also 20-26, in the Chapel and may have the option for a block in the Northam, potentially being opened on the day, there should be plenty of tickets available not only on line but at the ticket office on the day, although the advice is to book online to avoid queues.

Walsall have done their bit, they have sold 2,207 tickets online when they took them off of sale at noon today and they have the option of selling some on the day.

At £12.50 for adults and £7.50 for concessions it is not expensive and you can find out more via this link to the club's Official Ticket Line

I just hope we take it seriously. I am still one of those (old fashioned I admit) that believes your club should go out with the intent to compete and if possible get to the final. FA Cup used to be a big thing and something to look forward to, now it comes across as an irritation to many clubs. Dilution of the competition first started when Man U were excused from playing one year so they could focus on the European Championship competition. From therein it has been eroded bit by bit.
