Aberdeen Striker Again Linked With Move To Southampton
Tuesday, 6th Aug 2024 13:18

Saints were linked with Bojan Miovski back in January, the striker being well known to Southampton head of recruitment from his time at Pittrodie before moving South in June 2023, now it seems he could be on the cards again.

The Scottish media is linking Southampton and Italian side Genoa with a move away from Aberdeen. The Daily Record has carried the story and says that Aberdeen are reportedly bracing themselves for bids from both Genoa and Southampton.

They go on to claim that Bolognaare also in the running ahead of their first campaign in the Champions League for 60 years, while La Liga side Espanyol reportedly had a £3million bid knocked back by the Dons last week.

The price that Aberdeen are looking for is said to be £6.5 million.

The 25 year old North Macedonian international played the full 90 minutes in Aberdeen's victory in the Scottish Premiership at St Johnstone at the weekend, although he did not find the net.

As mentioned earlier Southampton were linked back in January as they attempted to boost their strike power as they pushed for promotion and with the chance that Che Adams could have been leaving the club.

On the face of it though, now Southampton are in the Premier League again, he does not look like being the standard of striker we are in need of up front, 14 goals in 33 games for Aberdeen last season is not the greatest strike rate.

But perhaps Darren Mowbray having worked with him at Aberdeen, sees something in him that he feels might mean he could succeed at a higher level.

The reports in Scotland seem sure that Saints are going to make a bid, but that could just because of our alleged interest at the start of the year.
