He's had a huge effect, both on and off the pitch. I said at the time we signed him that this is one signing we might see a bigger effect off the pitch than on it, referring to the immediate boost it seemed to give the fans, and the atmosphere around Spotland certainly seems a lot brighter since his arrival.
Having said that, I'd say the partnership of Eastham and Canavan has had a bigger effect on our good form of late. 442Dale has said a few times that if Eastham had been playing all season we'd be in the play-offs, and I agree completely with that. [Post edited 20 Mar 2016 19:10]

When he comes on you can see the change in the other players, the smiles at some of his actions. If he makes half the impression on training ground and in changing room I think we need to keep him and get it done ASAP. Whilst the new Canavan and Eastham partnership has been great, along with Holt's brief appearances, IMO McDermott's return from injury has had the biggest impact on our form. We are a completely different team with him in the line-up! Easily the most technical player we've had in my 10 or so years of watching dale and our most important player. Need to get his contract renewed ASAP. |  | | |
