I don't think anyone who criticises his tactics or points out where we could do better is interested in credit though, we're simply discussing where we stand currently. I don't particularly believe that he deserves credit for putting himself 'in the arena' either. He deserves, and receives, plenty of credit for what he's done to this football club in the past decade, but the speech he's quoted seems to suggest we should be praising him just for simply being in the job when the going is tough.
