It was about time the groundsman got sacked from his post, as ever since he took over from the previous groundsman the pitch has never been properly looked after.The previous groundsman had just the same problems but obviously new how to solve them.I am led to believe the present fellow who was in charge worked under him, and so why it has been allowed to get into such a poor condition with him not being held accountable is unbelievable.
What a laughing stock we have become.People should be held accountable for these decisions as this has cost a lot of time and money in order to put right.

Also, in the same vein as Dr. Google being able to diagnose and cure most things in the medical profession these days, right the way up to brain surgery with a knife and fork + a bottle of chloroform, it seems that a similar level of expertise on soil science and agronomy can be acquired with a few keystrokes?
Having said that, perhaps the forum collective could have given as good advice on the pitch as the club received to date? | |

Don't think the Groundsman would have had the final decision to lay a soil based pitch last year.
The Board will have made that decision and as a result we are now having to repeat the process.
I hope lessons have been learned.

It appears the club has indeed taken the advice of the forum collective, hence the right bloody mess it's in!
As for brain surgery, i wouldn't mind having some, providing the knife and fork was wielded by a London art critic who'd just imbibed the chloroform!

At the moment it seems that what ever we do with the pitch we are damned at least they have tried to address problems that arise, a new pitch seems to be the only answer at the moment | | | |
