He'd have shot a few times too, which our players were rarely trying. Incredibly, Arsenal had more shots on target than we did in that game. [Post edited 16 Dec 2020 20:46]

Once they were down to 10 men, we became complacent. What we should have done was up our work rate and increase our urgency, to stretch them, tire them and create openings to exploit. Instead we became slower and allowed Arsenal to camp comfortably on the edge of their 18 yard box and apart from Redmond's effort hitting the bar and a few speculative crosses, we rarely threatened. N'Lundulu could well have been an option in hindsight, especially for the last 10 mins or so as something different, but it seems that already, there is a huge level of expectancy on the young player who has just a handful of Prem appearance minutes under his belt.

I sometimes think that having Djenepo on is like playing with 10 men, so I was pretty dismayed to see him coming on as soon as they got the red - as if we wanted to even it up a bit! But to be fair to him, he was OK. In and around the box he's is a completely different player to anywhere else on the park. It's like he comes to life when he's in sight of goal and there's not too much to think about. I thought Redmond was out best player when he was on. Also think that not winning this will give us a bit of a kick up for Saturday. |
I am still not sure what Djenepo brings Sure flashes of brilliance but he loses the ball cheaply and has a propensity to, well look for fouls or even cheat I would have rather seen Redmond on followed by n’ lundulu
