That reminds us that what seems innocuous to many, can be devastating for a significant minority.
This next bit isn't about your post, but now I am writing, I'll chuck it up as an argument against the anti vaxers.
When it was reported that 60% of hospitalisations were unvaccinated (after mistakenly reporting the opposite), the hospitalisations were around 800 per day. At that point, 80% of the adult population had been double jabbed. So the double jabbed were contributing 220 people a day to the hospitalisation figure. The residual 480 were people who had NOT been double jabbed. This from 20% of the adult population. If they HAD been double jabbed, we could expect this number to be 55. Therefore, 435 people per day were being hospitalised and consuming valuable NHS resource, preventing other urgent medical procedures being carried out, through a decision not to have the COVID 19 vaccination.
Now I know that everyone is entitled to NHS treatment at the point of need, and there are plenty of other medical conditions that could be categorised as "self inflicted". But the argument that these people are there for selfish reasons still holds. They are in effect, wasting resource that could have so easily been directed at those who had no choice in their need. | | | |
