Humphrys on loan? 21:11 - Nov 27 with 8946 viewsJames1980

Young Stephen doesn't seem to be a first or even second choice forward for Wigan. I've said it before and am saying again it would be worth having a word with Wigan and seeing if we can get Humps on loan in January till the end of the season.

Is he definitely out injured? I noticed he hadn't been playing, but he then started their televised cup match against Dagenham so I assumed it was just a case of him not catching but then being given some minutes in rotation for the cup. He hadn't played for weeks before that game and hasn't played since.

Yes, he was injured, played v Dagenham and then felt his back again, or whatever it was.

Our mate Gary Bowyer mentioned it on Radio Bolton after the Scunthorpe game.

No way should he ever be a dale player again.
Greedy so and so couldn't wait to desert us.

What you mean like Gary Jones , who actually said he "would never play for this S@@t club again " if we didnt let him follow his bum chum to Barnsley?
Soon forgotten by many a Dale fan that episode was!

Because, frankly, who cares? What he may or may not have said in heat of the moment 20 years ago is completely irrelevant when you consider that not only did he play for the club again, but he led us out at Wembley, led us to promotion, and became our record appearance holder and one of the biggest legends in the history of the club. Why on earth anyone would still hold a grudge after all of that just because of a throwaway comment several years prior I have no idea.

Tangled up in blue.

And presumably, if it was such a bad thing, anyone who felt so strongly would not have supported a player by cheering his goals or contributing to his wages.

Bet you were still cheering when he was lashing in goals at Accrington to start our comeback from 2-0 down.

Or were you one of those sad individuals who turned their back on him when he was taking penalties?

I know you won't answer, because everything you post can't be supported in any way, but it still needs saying.

Humphrys scored tonight for Wigan away at Accrington in the EFL trophy.

Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

Best of luck to Wyke on his recovery

Will probably mean Humphrys getting a lot more game time; not that i ever thought Wigan might want to loan him out or owt

If we’re talking about bringing back former players on loan, never mind Humphrys and Henderson, let’s have Hogan!
He would score in this team!

What the same one that's playing every week in the championship....not sure that's an option

A more realistic former Dale man who might be available on loan in January is Fabio Tavares, who has a dozen goals so far this season for Coventry U23.

What about Grant Holt?

He used to play for us and his surname begins with H.

Is Steve Hitehall available as well?

Good shout, was thinking Citeh and BBM could redeem themselves a smidgen by loaning us James McAtee.

I doubt BBM thinks he needs to redeem himself.

Last season taught us he was completely unaware either of himself or his surroundings.

Actually, yes, he wasn't a bad player. Made his debut at Huddersfield and was involved in the goals scored by Leo Bertos.

Willie Burns was quite good as well, although the pair of them were at City before the money men came in, which seems to have produced a different type of 'youngster' there now.

And before those, we got Neil Youngster...
