Not at all. If you bother to think about what was written I am saying that everybody who voted in favour is responsible and that it had cross party support so blaming one party is missing the point.

Our involvement in this war was definitely because of Blair. Parliament followed the forceful "advice" of the PM at the time and believed Blair when he said Sadam had weapons of mass destruction, so ofcourse most of parliament voted for it. But it was Blair who lead it and demanded it. The individual voters, voted on the information they were given by Blair. So it's definitely down to Blair.

However, although I can see the anger towards Blair, I'm not sure whether he knowingly lied. He may have done but he could also have believed that there were weapons of mass destruction and got it wrong. We don't know. Sadam was a brutal leader and I think Blair and Bush wanted rid, which wasn't a bad thing in itself, to want to get rid of such a threat to the world or someone who was abusing his own people. Had they left him in power, we don't know what arocities Sadam could have done, leaving us all to say why was he left in power, in hindsight. But it was disastrously naive. They naively thought they could change the country they invaded, make the world a safer place, but they made things worse. It was a brutal lesson for future leaders not to get involved with other countries' affairs, especially those that are entrenched in religion.

What on Earth are you talking about? For starters I have voted for all 3 main political parties in my lifetime so “tribal” hardly cuts it. As for Blair, yes he has to take ultimate responsibility for us getting involved in the Iraqi war but as said, he could not have done it without the support of the majority of MPs which he did, with cross party support (so it was not just a Labour thing). Plenty of MPs from all parties saw beyond the WoMD bullshit so why more voted for it is anyones guess.
The LibDems voted against the war. If the Tories had joined them along with the 84 Labour dissenters there would have been no war. As it is only 2 Tories voted no.
