Hacket is a twit. How are Southampton cheating the fans. It is the ref that stops the game. Same as the ref that blows for free kicks when Wolves players roll around like they have been assaulted. If matches only record57 minutes playing time, it is because the over officious refs are not doing their job properly.

Wonder how much fergie time he gave in his career. Let's face it if it was one of the so called big 4 clubs doing it it would be lauded as evidence of a desire to win mentality. Hypocrites

Too many stoppages he says? How out of date is he? In today’s game where head injuries in particular have to be looked at (as in Koch at Leeds) this is going to happen.

Plus if we’re cheating that means it’s Che Adams fault he was hacked down in the 67th minute does it? In any event, this tactic of supposedly stopping play would hardly be worth it against Everton on Saturday as we were just strolling past them.

In short, Hackett is, and always was, a complete tvvat.

Isn’t feigning an injury cheating just like diving or is it just a coincidence that our players tend to need the physio on every game between the 60 and 70 minute mark? What would the reaction be if Newcastle were pulling this stunt?

Maybe VAR should be using background checks and alerting the ref every time a player goes down clutching their head/face when neither has been impacted. If they were booked (even retroactively) for time wasting I'm sure it would soon stop. Fernandez does it all the time. This week he was clutching his shin and screaming, when the replay showed clearly it was his foot that was trod on. If he's claiming referred pain, he shouldn't object to referred bookings.

Ok, so our trainers have come on in this 60-70 minute slot for say two thirds of our matches, but has there been an analysis of the other times our trainers come on or would this inconveniently distort things for the conspiracy theorists..?

Yes. What's the problem with any team doing it?
Not our fault our players we're fouled around 70 min mark, is it?
Cheating Geordies just call games off with 3 or 4 having the sniffles,

Wouldn't be surprised to see others doing it, as seems an advantage to us.

First out the blocks us

It isn’t about players being fouled, it is about players getting “injured” and needing the physio to come on. We all get irritated about players going down pretending to be crocked, so why is this different? Because it’s us?

How about the occurences / games where the cartel clubs (ala City) hound referees to review and spend hours checking VAR (to no avail) and then add on the equivalent amount of minutes in added time to benefit those same wakners? Is that not darn right wrong?

Whilst they’re about it what’s fair about:
A) the home team watering the pitch in the bit they think necessary?
B) Sticking the away team in a shittier dressing room?
C) Home advantage?

Scrap the fooking lot, just in case some snowflake schmuck takes offence, FFS.

What's to stop the other team getting instructions, rehydrating etc in the stoppage? Fook the lot of them, glad we have got an edge

Please show us the evidence that any of the injuries in the 60 - 70 min range that required a trainer were definitely due to players feigning injury.
Did the article mentioning this 'fact' give specific incidents, or show stats that we had a higher %age of trainer on the pitch occurrences in this specific time frame compared to any other 10 minute windows?
Players do indeed take on refreshments when the trainer comes on, or chat to The Boss, at any stage of the game. To say that it is Stage Managed needs some hard evidence. This week I'm pretty sure Che got clattered in the window and did indeed need the trainer to come on, but I don't think he was acting at all.

Good points Eric. Until someone does an analysis of all of our injuries and when they happen, this whole discussion is a nonsense.

Some hack claims we do this to cheat, but the reality is that it only happens less than 60% of the time. Until a full and proper analysis is done how do we know the same thing doesn’t happen in say, the first 15 minutes of our games 65% of the time? Will the anti ‘toxic masculinity’ dweebs be wetting their collective panties over that?

Until a complete analysis of ALL clubs is undertaken this is a spurious claim put forward by a self promoting tvvat.

Because they get away with it, and no one makes that major of a fuss about it, whilst this they are, even though they do actually get fouled whilst many others don’t.
As you don’t see threads getting put up about 1 player going down once, because of a foul, it’s only when they do it multiple times for no reason whatsoever (aka simulation) that anyone really complains about, and even then you don’t see articles written up about it as teams do it all the time to time waste and such, just maybe not always at the same time.

And even then, it’s only just over half the time, and seeing how the last 3 times I can remember a player going down around that time for us (Che and Everton, Broja and Spurs and Broja and Man City), they were all clear fouls which most players would go down to, as yeah they may take a little longer, but they were still fouled and they were reckless tackles.

Even then, Uni level students have said that it’s just a coincidence…

Perhaps address your questions to the journalists who ran the story? I am more curious about whether we would do dismissive if the story was about Newcastle and not us?
