Something odd going on here.

Shane surely isn’t staying beyond the end of the season.

How does he keep getting in the team ahead of Adam Armstrong?

I can only assume that either there’s been a falling-out or there is some serious issue that has been kept quiet.

Ok, I’ll bite. How do you know that he fell out with Armstrong? He had a bad calf injury and he still isn’t back to his best.
KWP is a better left back than Perraud and Livramento has been excellent for much of this season at right back. Plenty of Prem managers play right footed players on the left, it is not exclusive to Ralph.
At one point yesterday during live scores we were 9th. Most of us realistic supporters would snatch your hand off for that and a good cup run this season. You make it sound like we are Norwich. Yes, we have been inconsistent this season but for a club of our size and with our limited resources what do you expect?

Where have you seen KWP being a better left back than Perraud?
From what I've seen (since he got a chance) Perraud has been doing a good job at left back and so has KWP in his correct position.
And don't name me as a rumour monger, it's obvious to anyone with eyes in their head that can see body language that Armstrong has fallen out with Hassenhutl.
And while we're at it, why was the reasonably successful 4 4 2 dropped with Adams and Broja up front? It all went downhill from there, and so did those two.
Expect? It would not be unreasonable to expect the use of the players more effectively with tactics, formation and levels of ability. Broja and Che Adams up front worked. Now it's back to unnecessary embarrassment.

Have to agree re Broja and Adams.

Though Broja has definitely gone off the boil ever since the West Ham Cup game.

That said, he is still a heck of a lot more likely to score than Shane……

The reality is he fuks about too much with his decision making..he bewilders not only the support but the players too...

I love this constant beaten wife syndrome that apparently we all have to adhere to be a true Saints fan...don't hope or dream of better years..just shelter in our pigeon hole of happy to be in the Premier league Sir.

Ralph has embarrassed this club irreparably in his tenure..gone on record breaking losing runs..but oh no..don't knock the clown...

We never get a live game on TV without the nine nil comments....he's stained our clubs history Nick .that's his legacy

Some fans can’t stop bringing up 9-0. Why should media pundits? Funny, but despite those defeats there are plenty outside this club who respect his abilities as a manager/coach. Somehow being a mid table club in mid table with some excellent cup runs isn’t good enough for some. Yep, we would all like to be higher and win something, but there are plenty of us who remember the days in Division 1 and find this a lot more preferable.

Well the queue for his services are....non existent..so those looking on admiringly don't want him that badly.

As for the Nine Nils...its omnipresent in every broadcast on any televised saints game...not a factor driven by supporters or online activities..its fukin embarrassing Sogs for anyone that cares deeply about the clubs history.

He is a better left back than Perraud. He is in the running for player of the year because he has been excellent at both left back and right back this season.
But you are rumour mongering. You have absolutely no evidence that Ralph has fallen out with Stuey other than your own interpretation of “body language”.

Oh soggy you’re so dull, I’ve just popped on here to have a look and your one man crusade to convince us all that Ralph is a genius continues.

Social media advises me that we have to pay more cash to Blackburn if Adam Armstrong plays another game for us this season. Which could explain his absence.

Would be interesting to know how much if true.

If this is true it would explain a lot also means armstrong wont be here next season

It is. But the manager and coaching staff would seem to have the same opinion.

We definitely don’t want or need to pay more for him.

In my view AA is just not good enough.

At the start of the season he was making a few runs and because PL defenders had not seen him, he was getting some success.

Now the out of possession coaches at PL teams are predicting his runs and the defenders are covering the spaces he likes. As a result he likes to move closer to the CF (Adams/Broja) which in turn means the midfield players have fewer options and the CF also has limited choice once they get the ball.

AA's strength also lies in the short game around the penalty area which when a team is pressing, is fine because the defenders are going backwards. When the press is not working (and we seem to have given up on that) then he is chasing long balls into the channels and that gives defenders a chance to head it away or push him deep into a corner. He does not have the guile to vary that run and perhaps sometimes go from wide to middle rather than his go to run of middle to wide.

Partly that's a coaching issue and partly his ability to take on defenders once he had the ball, which at PL level is limited. It's not his game either. He's a quick of the mark striker who wants a couple of yards in the box.

As soon as that game does not work and he has to be coached again, I'm not surprised that he's frustrated and perhaps unhappy at being back in remedial school. He has a choice of learn to do what the team/manager want or sit on the bench. For the moment at least RH seems to think that his game adds nothing to how we are playing.

Some players come out of this phase better, others don't and are moved on. The jury is out on AA for now.

Ralph preferred McCarthy until he was unable to play

He fell out with S Armstrong and didn't play him for weeks

Our player of the season was played out of position and dropped on occasions for no reason at all

We changed our shape to stop our top scorer from scoring

We made nine changes and completely derailed our season

And we've suffered more off the ball injuries this season than I can remember

We have completely forgotten how to defend

If that Austrian clown stays for next season we can look forward to a home and away Pompey clash by 2025/2026

The reality was, Livramento was outperforming KWP at RB at the start of the season, and got the national plaudits to prove it. The useful upside is that we now know that KWP, who deserves the plaudits too, can play very well on either side, and FB has not been an issue for us this season.

When you say elsewhere he f’s around with decision making, I presume you mean team selection? There are plenty of views on here that he is too reluctant to change or make substitutions quick enough.

I agree that sometimes his selections are not what we might prefer or expect. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. But the underlying issue is that no matter what he chooses, player performances are mostly what let’s him down. He will not sink to the lowest common denominator, like Hughes, and pushes for something better, so for that, I support him.
