Obviously it's quite exciting to see us linked with deals of this size. Does seem odd that this guy plays more wide than a traditional striker.
Maybe the club think he will both score goals and provide assists for whoever is up front - maybe Che. although we all know Che is not exactly clinical.

Or maybe the club see the goals he's scored from wider positions and think they can play him centrally? That might be interesting.

He can slot in on the left side of the 3 attacking midfielders which leaves Adam Armstrong, Adams and Mara to compete for the lone striker spot.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

Sounds like PSV are holding out for 50m.

I just don't see this happening at all.

Apparently we bid £22 million and that was flatly rejected.

I suspect we will be used by both PSV and the player's agent to drive up the fee / salary package to the financial benefit of everybody excluding the club who ultimately buy him. Which will be a bigger club than us.

We should have got the Stuttgart striker who is signing for Wolves. He is the type of player we need, an actual striker.

PSV wanted 50 million euros which is around £42 in our money, that was the price when Man Utd were sniffing but they are now not interested so the price will drop, also with PSV out of the Champions League they may need the money

I watched the crucial game they lost to Rangers.

He didn’t stand out at all that night.

I know little about them, I watched Rangers in the Europa final, I cant say Aribo stood out, these days you cant judge on one game, the clubs look at hours of footage

I also take it all with a pinch of salt. The media are saying exactly how much we bid. They are also saying exactly how much PSV want.
I bet that is all total BS. They have no idea.

Can't see this coming off, we're offering 20m less than his clubs valuation & he wants Champions Lge football (he won't get that here).
Plus our interest will open up the floodgates for bigger clubs to grab him.
We've been linked to a bid for Calebo- Car.
Yes, he's what we need a 6'4" Ctr Back.
I've watched videos of him & he looks a big strong commanding guy that uses the ball well, he's particularly good at switching play by knocking long balls accurately to strikers.
I know the videos only show his best bits but he does look useful ( so did Wesley Hoedt look good on his videos before we found out that he was crap).
The clock is ticking & we probably won't know who's coming & who's going until the last hour if the last day of transfer window.
I don't get that, that is panic buying which spells trouble.

It would make more sense to get a big centre forward who can get on the end of all the high crosses and corners we put into the box and actually head the ball into the net.

Would have been a lot cheaper as well.

They are being greedy. They've already got Jiménez. We haven't got anyone who can do it.

"Wolves have agreed to pay Stuttgart 18m euros (£15.4m) plus add-ons for their striker Sasa Kalajdzic. Manager Bruno Lage spoke of his desire to bring in an additional forward to compete with Raul Jimenez."

We're a funny club. Our main attacking tactic is to put high crosses and corners into the box but we haven't got anyone who can head the ball.

Of course we might have had Jimenez as well if that utter dunce Pellegrino hadn't gone for Carillo instead.

I just don't think we're very good at spunking large transfer fees out on individual players from overseas. Carillo, Osvaldo, Ramirez all disasters.

I think we have done pretty well at the £10 - £15 million range this year, with Joe Shields presumably having a very positive impact.

If we have £25 million to spend, I would rather see us get a couple in for say £11 million each, plus a £3 million loan fee to Chelsea for Broja for the season (nod to Message Board Editor....)

I know he had a season in the Premier League when he didn't score many goals but Mitrovic would have been an ideal signing for us after Fulham got relegated as he thrives on high crosses.

Brian Clough used to say he only bought players if they were good headers and successful clubs usually have them, like Cristiano Ronaldo and Benzema.

At Southampton, we seem to have done the opposite and recruited a squad full of players who are hopeless at heading. Last season we must have been the weakest team in the air, both in defence and attack. But, fortunately, things may be looking up as at least one of the new signings. Bella-Kotchap, looks like he can actually head the ball. Now we need a striker who can do the same.

If it comes to heading, Bednarek is one of our better ones, both in defence and attack.

Yeah well I’m all fairness if we have a front of Adams or Mara up front, with this Dutch lad, S.Armstrong, Aribo and Lavia/A.Armstrong, then that certainly wouldn’t be too poor of a strike force. But at the same time, I do think we need a striker rather than a winger as I think it would be better if we played a 4-4-2 rather than some sort of 4-2-3-1

The stuttgart striker plus 20m on a decent CB would do the job
