Oh well.

Leeds and Villa lost at home.

Not a bad day for us overall.

Saints not all bad. Just been chatting with a ManUnited glory hunter. If west Ham had won he would have been £23k richer.
Oh well. You don't miss what you never had.🙄😂

We stay top of our mini-league with Leicester and Forest! It doesn't get much better than that if you're a Saints fan.

It was also the way that the ref got completely in the way of Jarrod Bowen.

It was astonishing that the ref gave the goal really….

I guess sometimes for some offside decisions you want to be a bit further away from the players so that you can get an easier view (?).

Sometimes I think the linesman can be too close and it makes it difficult to look across the line if the players are close to him.

Picture doesn’t really say much though, as it’s from when the ball is released from his hands that they need to have both feet on/behind the byline, not when it’s like 10 years away a few seconds afterwards.
Although after seeing the replays on Sky I’ll be interested to see what MOTD can show, as the one on sky makes it look like he was on the line when he releases it.

2 reasons for that, first,y it’s make sure that if KWP did a bit of a trick and went down the line last second, so that he’s not in the way and doesn’t intervene with play and it can’t hit them whilst the balls still in play. And secondly as they’re always meant to be a bit further back, as it helps to give them a wider and clearer vision for any incidents that may occur

Yeah well the ref shouldn’t have gotten in the way, but sometimes there’s very little you can do, as refs can’t tell the future and will sometimes think a players gonna play it one way, so goes the opposite direction, yet the player changes his mind and plays it toward the refs direction.

As it’s all just down to luck of the dice for how much of an impact and how important any interventions might be, as it happens quite often, but it’s just unlucky for the ref that it occurred just outside the penalty area and a goal was scored directly afterwards.

But still if it wasn’t a foul throw (which it didn’t look like form the footage on sky) then the goal was never gonna get ruled out, as a ref getting in the way isn’t a foul, so there’s no need to punish us, and seeing that it never made contact with him, there’s no need for a dropped ball ether. Still I personally liked it more when it hitting the ref you’d play on anyway, as refs are part of the game, and players get in the way for us yet we can’t halt the game when that happens.

3-4-15
13 points from 22
Surely that is enough to get the sack?
At this rate we might get 20 points by the end of the season.
Chubby old Blackmore thinks this is what we should expect.

Why four subs at once with 12 minutes to go?

Where is the sense in a huge tactical change at that point in the game.

I think he's playing fantasy football and his subs might score him points. I hope he does well in Fantasy land because he sure isn't in real life.

It‘s exactly this sort of thing that drives the ‚Ralph out‘ sentiments. Not just the results but that he never fails to make these mindboggling decisions.

He took off Aribo, Adams and Armstrong AT THE SAME TIME.

This must be one of the stupidest things he’s ever done.

It’s utter madness. Even before noting that two of three that replaced them were the very inexperienced Edozie and Mara.

He is a tactical wrecking ball.

I think he’s got a screw lose.

At best he’s too clever by half.

Mara came on for 12 minutes and didn’t break sweat.

For all the shit Shane Long got he’d of come on, run himself into the ground, chased lost causes and put pressure on the defenders.

Mara ambled about.

The ref is part of the pitch and although it's fashionable for a ref to halt play if the ball hits him, he doesn't have to.

If Bowen had reacted half a second quicker, it would not have been an issue.

Let's not forget that Moyes is under pressure as well and has spent much of his time after their last three or four matches moaning about refs, VAR, VAR again and everything else. And ultimately who cares what he thinks or says.

Yes we got a bit of luck but later in the season we'll have some bad luck which may cost us so these things even out.

Agreed.
These things even themselves out over the course of a season.

We need to somehow muddle through until the end of December and not be cut adrift at the bottom.

And then sign at least two strikers.

I actually thought we missed Shane today. Without Che Adams we have absolutely nobody up front.

Nick will doubtless correct me about Sekou Mara…….

As Nick said, Sekou Mara will easily match Brojas total from last season it was only 6 after all.

Not as nice as Moussa’s though. ♥️
