The situation is so bad, that Saints have released a statement. Many people I know are fed up of away fans, often in away colours, cheering in the home sections. It's causing so much f@cking aggro in the ground and it's worse than ever with all the glory hunters.
For the big 6, restrict ticket sales to those who have also been to 3 other games in that season. There is surely an answer. [Post edited 4 Nov 2022 7:01]

I don’t think they care what the fans think. If there is aggro, they will blame and punish the home fans, as it is the PL and FA that they will pay attention to. |  |

In truth they have sorted out the away fans who have caused trouble, it has just been done a little more discreetly.
When an away fan has plotted up in block 1 etc there is no choice but to pile in and arrest him, you don't get that issue vice versa in away sections, so it appears that the home fans are getting punished and the away fans getting away with it
But for missile throwing in eithe rsection the police don't plough in as it just causes more trouble, they get it on CCTV monitor the offender and lift him if he goes to the concourse |  |

So what you're saying is if we want the club to take it seriously every part of the ground should steam away fans in the home ends, because the chance of trouble is what will force the club to act?
