Anybody else who is in their 50’s and their eyebrows are the last attachment to their original hair colour when all else has turned grey or fallen out and then you start to get these white hairs within them that grow to a centimetre in length overnight with the thickness of barbed wire? I now have to pluck these fûckers out constantly and sitting on a train home there is an old boy opposite me who seems to have combed his eyebrows in different directions with a parting given the length of them! Is this what I have to look forward to?

From 50 onwards it became part of my barber's job to trim them.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

i also have a plethora of ear hair.

i kind of understand the point of eye brows (keeps out sweat from your eyes) and nose hair (filters pollen etc.) but why the flip haven't we evolved beyond ear hair which is utterly pointless.

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

So, therefore, all the hair you lose on top just gets shifted around the rest of your head. No wonder a haircut costs £25 these days.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Yes, something along the lines of if it can’t grow at the top it will bloody well grow elsewhere in your head.

If you go to a Turkish barbers they often have a hot wax treatment for about £2 that keeps the hair out of your ears for about 8 weeks.

We need to talk about haircut prices. When I moved to Lewisham 10 years ago I chose a local Turkish barber, and was happy to pay £12. Then I grew a beard and had the hair and beard done for £16. All well and good, and I always added on two quid for a tip. But since lockdown it has gone up to £18, then £20, now £24. It's too much. That's what my wife pays for a trim. Is this some kind of gender equalisation scam?

It works with the earwax to keep dirt and general debris away from your eardrum. Farther inside your ear, really tiny hairs serve both to help you hear and keep your balance. This is because they live in canals full of fluid and so when you move, the liquid moves with you. Hope this helps.

So in theory, your balance should improve as you get older as there are more hairs inside your ears.So why do older people fall over more?

I am in my mid 50s and have more eyebrows than hair. I now have a few stray grey eyebrow hairs which I pluck out and put in an envelope for a friend of mine because she's into older men. However I forgot to tell her I was sending them to her and she's now called the police. Yes my eyebrow hairs are getting longer. Some stretch all the way round the back of my head and I have starting platting and braiding them. I think it's a thing now?

Never knowingly right.

Simple answer is that old people have other shit to deal with such as weaker legs. But too much ear hair, as with too much wax, can mean that more bacteria can get stuck which can contribute to lack of balance or labyrinthitis. So, you need just enough hair and wax but not too much. Think of it as the Warren Neil and Ian Dawes of human stability - the perfect balance of defence and attack.

Hair on my head disappeared long ago. A cheap pair of clippers is all I need to shave my head myself. Use my phone camera to check the back. Tweezers to get rid of ear hairs as they emerge and trim the eyebrows every few weeks using an attachment that came with my electric shaver. None of it takes very long to do and you don't have to make small talk with a hairdresser/barber.

As for hair colour, still mostly original. A few grey in whats left of head hair but not dominant.

The woman who cuts my hair does a little eyebrow trim too otherwise I start to look like a kung fu master or something. I've got a nose/ear trimmer. Man, that shit isn't enough. You leave it for like a week and you start looking like a Tory MP. F*CK!
