Pace is the key thing.
Luton have it right across their team; they don’t necessarily have that much possession of the ball, but when they get it, they have an end product.
I’m not convinced at all that they will go straight back down. They will do well at home, and have the pace to hit teams on the break away from home.
Whereas Saints are bereft of pace across the team; I am assuming that Tella won’t be coming back to us as he seems to have no intention of returning. [Post edited 30 May 2023 23:14]

It’s why Warnock has been so successful in the Championship.
He knows that it is all about keeping things tight, not giving away silly goals, being tigerishly competitive in midfield, and being clinical when you have chances in front of goal. It’s not about having 70% possession of the ball.

You're right. It was fast solo runs through defences, especially by Tella, like Sulemana was doing against Liverpool. There was none of this sideways and backwards passing in front of the oppostiion. They were running through them. |  |

it actually was possesion based,burnley top of the stats for this and were happy to pass the ball around at the back so i dont know what games youve been watching however they did have pacy,technical players in the final third where it counts |  | | |

Swansea's previous 2 finishes: 6th and 4th. Then Russell Martin arrived and took them down to 15th (Swansea's worst finish in the 2nd tier since 1984) and then they were struggling in the bottom half of the table for most of this season as well until a late run took them up to 10th. They were never in the hunt for a playoff place.
His time at MK Dons was even worse. The season before he arrived, they got promoted. He then took them to 19th and 13th before he was replaced and they went up to 3rd . Everywhere he's been, he's done worse than the other managers before and after him. That is poor/mediocre at best.
As for the cups, none of his teams ever got past the 3rd round. His greatest achievement was a 0-0 draw with Eastleigh in the 1st round before scraping through in a penalty shootout.
A club of our size should be able to attract a much better manager than him.
