Regarding the January transfer window, I assumed with the new investment coming in you would have a free hit at the January window without the need to have PL approval for any moves, however if that is not the case and you still need approval that puts a different slant on things. In fact, having seen the back page of one of the papers today it is possible things could get a lot worse if any of this happens, I stress if, as headlines sell papers no matter how accurate they are - the article suggests that if the legal action by the other PL Clubs is successful it would force Everton into administration and there for a further deduction of 9 more points, obviously a cause of concern for all Evertonians.

As you say, there is an awful lot of click via when it comes to headlines especially from the Express and The Mail who seem to contradict themselves every few minutes.

There will be an appeal and I think Everton have strong grounds for it, even if my default thought is that they should draw a line under it and crack on with the rest of the 26 games.

I’m unsure how the likes of Forest (didn’t get relegated) or Saints (relegated by a mile) can sue Everton. I can only assume that worrying about Everton’s finances forced the Saints board to smoke crack pipes and appoint Nathan Jones as manager, giving him a ton of money in January and then sacking him.

It’s a right mess and clearly demonstrates that the EPL don’t know what they’re doing.

Agree with that last bit in particular, I hope it is just media muckraking that is suggesting Saints are going to get involved. Would be embarrassing if we do.

Once upon a time, your ticket money went to the club.
Then things changed for the worse and your money just went to mercenary players.
In the future it seems it will mainly end up with the lawyers.
