Such a sad, sad story, and what an incredible man.

You just don't know what you would do in his situation I suppose until you are there, but I'm guessing if he was to spend the rest of his life virtually totally paralysed he may have just wondered is it worth carrying on

I'm sure his family tried to talk him out of it, but as you say, a very brave decision especially if there was even the slightest chance that things could have improved as time goes on

Such a tragic story. What a man. He chose to take his last breath when Saints kicked off at 3pm - blimey what a fan. Having to make a conscious decision to end his life knowing his life would never be the same again, and to be able to donate organs to help others, is such an act of braveness. Top guy. I hope Saints can do something or other, to celebrate his life or to enable fellow Saints fans to help and support his family.

A very brave decision, as has been said he knew that he would be paralysed and on a ventilator, so that maybe helped him, but still the toughest decision anyone would have to make.
