The only possible reason that Ings returns is that the club now know that the Ross Stewart signing has turned into the complete fiasco many of us thought it would be and there is no likelihood of him playing this season.
Still, if Ings returns at least Stewart will have someone to talk to in the treatment room for the remainder of the season. | | | |

No Nick it’s based on realism and previous evidence. It didn’t work under similar circumstances years back for Charlie George or Perry Groves and it hasn’t worked for Ross Stewart.
Your boundless optimism and support for everything that the management of S F C attempt is to be welcomed. However on this occasion current evidence points in the opposite direction. Do you honestly think that £10 million plus wages for a 27 year old player who has never played at the top level and so far this season hasn’t started a Championship match, has been a success ? | | | |

Ross Stewart may still turn out to be a good signing. However, if he recovers from the latest injury by mid January, he will then have to eased into the team. Lets say all goes well and he becomes a regular first team player, you could be looking at mid March. That would mean he missed much of the season. That is the best case scenario.
