Why We Should Not Fear Bournemouth 14:06 - Sep 27 with 557 viewsSaintNick

Bournemouth start this weekend on 5 points, but they are very lucky to have those 5.

Game 1 - 1-0 down at Forest and 86th minute equaliser
Game 2 - 1-1 draw with Newcastle
Game 3- 2-0 down at Everton in the 87th minute before Everton collapsed to a 3-2 defeat
Game - 1-0 home defeat to Chelsea
Game 5 - 3-0 defeat at Liverpool.

If Everton hadn't collapsed then they would only have 2 points from this season.

One interesting fact is the number of goals they scored in their games after the 86th minute, out of the 5 they have scored 4 have been after the 86th minute, so they keep going.

Hang on.

I’m far from a Boscombe fan, but they were completely robbed of a win against Newcastle with a disallowed injury time winner, which the refs union lot have admitted was the wrong decision. It was ridiculous TBF.

That would have put them on 7 points.

They were unlucky against Chelsea.

They’re a very good team; we will have to put in our best performance of the season to just get one point out of this game.

Certainly we shouldn't fear them, but we often struggle against teams that press hard, particularly when we are under instructions to tippy tap at the back. Bournemouth are a team that can press very effectively, so Rusty needs to put his pride aside and tell our defenders to hoof it when under pressure. Otherwise there will be plenty to fear.

So, they've played 3 teams we've played and got better results against all 3 of them, which is just one of the reasons why all of the bookies see this as an easy home win. It will be quite an upset if we beat them.

That's it Pat, give them a false sense of security!
