Is Anyone Positive About The Liverpool Game on 15:27 - Nov 22 by franniesTache | I am positive that we'll be back in the pub long before the game ends |
The three goal rule shall be observed - would help those observing the rule get back to the pub quickly if the turnstiles had revolving doors…

Is Anyone Positive About The Liverpool Game on 16:54 - Nov 22 by Centurion | In past games against Liverpool, especially at the Dell, we had passion and created a hostile atmosphere. They 'didn't like it up em', to coin a phrase and there was always a chance against Pool and Manure etc. Now Liverpool will know exactly how we are going to play and will have a very professional way of dealing with this. Can only see a comprehensive win for Liverpool. Hope Saints are not humilliated |
I really miss the Dell days - was talking to a good friend of mine who supports Man U (born & bred in Ancoats) and he was saying he remembered the days when I really looked forward to Man U & Liverpool games at The Dell and he never felt confident going down there as it was such a hostile atmosphere to play in and often difficult to get a result. Three of my top Dell days were victories against Man U (3-2 Keegan era & 6-3 when Keane got sent off) but that 4-1 win against Liverpool was probably the best 90 mins I have seen. On top of the four goals shared by Paul Rideout, Rod Wallace & Matt Le Tiss, both Rideout & Rod W hit the woodwork, Shearer could have had at least one before half time and Grobbelaar made several good saves one of which defied gravity let alone belief! Seriously, 8-1 would not have overly flattered us that day. Those were the days, just look at us now - and for that matter, what the game itself has become 35 years on from that glorious afternoon at The Dell.

The Dell could be a hostile place for away teams to play at. David Beckham said it was the ground he hated playing at the most because the crowd were so close to the pitch and really gave him some stick. Our home record against Liverpool used to be good too, at least until the mid-90s when the terraces were replaced by seats and the capacity was reduced.

Is Anyone Positive About The Liverpool Game on 23:04 - Nov 23 with 23 views | MattFinish | I think we can do it although did bang my head earlier If we can frustrate them, play with Tall Paul and actually play to his strengths, play Dibling up front our possession football could nullify their play. It would rely on Liverpool having a spectacularly bad day thinking they just have to turn up and every one of our players being up for it. It needs a massive game from the fans. Having said that we could get tonked but we can but dream COYS
