Will Still 17:37 - Oct 18 with 8557 viewsgrumpy

Well that wasn't much of an improvement was it?
Whats the point of having Downs on the bench, if when you are calling for some height in the box you don't play him.Not saying he would have been the answer but there's no point him being there.
Give the young lad Oyekunle a place on the bench, again not that tall but has a lot of promise.
Robinson and Fellows should have started.
Léo Scienza was brilliant but why did he move from the left to the right in the second half?
Will, its all very well standing there in your brilliant white trainers scowling at whats going on but a lot of that is down to you.
Will wont lose many but he wont win many either.
Get Danny Rohl in now and give him money to but a decent centre forward.

Would you give Will till the end of the season or longer?

I'd weigh things up at Xmas.

If we're not in the top half by then he'll likely get the bullet and would have definitely lost the fan base fully.

If we're in the top half I'd give him the rest of the season .
Then sack him if we dont finish in the playoffs.

Call me old fashioned but I don't think constantly sacking managers makes much difference.

It’s been poor so far but we can’t keep sacking managers. Hopefully SR can pull a fecking decent centre forward out of the hat in January.

As I have said in other threads I am not convinced by Will Still at all, and I would much prefer an experienced, less wooden manager, but I think what you say is exactly what the club will do. All the while we can get in the play offs, they won't sack him. They will be desperate not to sack him and admit they have got it wrong again. If we are near the bottom of the table for too much longer, the fans will demand it.

Nonetheless, lose the next two games or only get a draw, the pressure really will be on. Will Still needs to start getting wins now.

Right so you would have left Stewart out after scoring and playing very well against Sheff Utd would you? So you are telling me we have a massive problem scoring goals, we play Stewart who is outstanding and believe he could finally be the answer to our problems and then you’d bench him .

WALOB

Yes, I certainly would have left him out for the reasons I previously stated.

He’s been an injury waiting to happen from the moment we signed him and will be so until his contract expires which I believe is at the end of the current season. He needed to be nursed back to fitness, not chucked in at the deep end in desperation.

He reminds me of Charley George ( although nowhere near as good ) who was another injury waiting to happen. Both players able to score goals but it’s a little difficult from the treatment room table.

Ross Stewart is the new Agustín Delgado ; 2001-2004.

"Delgado moved to Southampton in 2001. Unfortunately, he was dogged by injuries which restricted him to only a few games during his time with the Saints. Southampton tried to get him back to fitness after the injury he picked in Necaxa prior to the 2002 World Cup Qualifiers, but to no avail.

It might have been a different story had the striker refused to play while injured during the 2002 World Cup. The pressure on him to play was enormous, as Ecuadorians believed that, with nine goals during the 2002 World cup qualifying campaign, he was indispensable; and naturally, Delgado dreamed of playing in a FIFA World Cup. All that led to his decision to play despite injury while heavily medicated on painkillers. Upon return to England, it was found that his injury had become chronic, effectively destroying his future in Europe. He also alienated manager Gordon Strachan by refusing to learn English, and Strachan felt the player had been forced on the club and was very high maintenance. When pressed for his plans for the Ecuadorian, Strachan replied "I've got more important things to think about. I've got a yoghurt to finish by today, the expiry date is today. That can be my priority rather than Agustin Delgado."
However, Delgado scored the winning goal for Southampton in a 3–2 home victory over the then Premiership champions Arsenal. He also scored a goal against Liverpool in the League Cup.

Delgado's performance v Arsenal, like Ross Stewart's v Sheffield United, is one that we'll always remember. That brief moment in time when all the stars aligned and they could, for one day, forget their injuries and play the game of their lives. It was almost as if a fairy godmother descended and said, you shall go to the ball, at least until the clock strikes midnight and you have to return to the treatment room again.

The trouble is we should have two lined up now
But we won’t have will we?
And we will wait until January spend the whole month dillying dallying and then loan in some useless guy from France

I think you’re the brainless one pal. 99 % of posters on here rate Shea Charles who is having a great season and playing well for Northern Ireland yet you’re the only person I know who doesn’t rate him . Forgive me for not taking your judgment too seriously.

Ah shea charles the man that has played 43 leagues for saints and has more red cards (1) than goals and assists (0).

I agree. Another appointment by the gang who want
To show how clever they are all the time.

It looks to me like SR and their chosen management are just into player trading.

Is that the same man that criticises WS for making changes to the team? Are we expected to believe that if Stewart had been left out then Nick would have applauded and said what a brave decision it was? Does he know everyone in the team that has a tight hamstring or other niggles (which Stewart didn't), or who would benefit from resting and who wouldn't?

It's not just a new Manager / Coach we need it's NEW OWNERS.
Until we have new owners nothing will change.
