| Birmingham Matchday Thread on 20:56 - Dec 28 with 830 views | PatfromPoole | I have a feeling we will see a change of keeper tomorrow night. Could be a chance for McCarthy to get a few games, which will determine whether a new keeper should be signed in January or not. Of course, we all already know the answer on that one. | |

I would be surprised if McCarthy plays tomorrow, the real issue is the defence and not the keeper

I agree the defence should be better than it is. However, Bazunu did not have much to do at all on Boxing Day. And he didn’t do it well.

Not sure what more he could do, the fella was left unmarked to pick his spot for the first goal and the second goal the player was right through and lashed the ball past him from close range. I would be more concerned why there was no one on the edge of the box to pick up loose balls for the first goal and how just a big hoof left their man right through on goal, than whether the keeper should have done better

He definitely should have saved the second goal. Johansson or any other half-decent keeper saves that. Yes, Romeu cocked up, but it’s keepers and strikers who ultimately make all the difference come the end of the season.

| Birmingham Matchday Thread on 15:03 - Dec 29 with 285 views | 1885_SFC | Another defeat looms this evening - due to a mix of the wrong players, the wrong substitutes and probably another half-arsed, can't be bothered team effort. So a defeat tonight, followed by a draw at home to Millwall and yet another defeat away at Boro. We really honestly aren't all that good... and we've been found out. Listen ; I would love to be more positive & upbeat, I really would. I'd love to be proved wrong. But looking at the 2nd half against WBA, the defeat at Norwich, the draw with Coventry & then that really poor showing at Oxford the other day... says to me we've lost the momentum we had when Eckert was first given the job & that the players are in 'comfort' mode now and that new manager spark has been well & truly extinguished - and I'm not sure Eckert knows how to get it back or get the team firing again. I guess we'll find out tonight at Birmingham whether I'm right or full of sh1t, eh. | |

Brum will fully be expecting us to play as we always do set up as we usually are If Tonda has anything about him he will have a plan B to surprise them

Let’s all hope you are wrong 18885 because if your predictions come to fruition the season will be effectively over by the first week of January. To get back on track for the slightest chance of a second half of the season playoff push we need two wins from the next three games absolute minimum. To all those who have travelled this evening, well done and for once I hope the players give you something to make the return journey easier.
