Just watching him play for Burnley, i had forgotten he had gone there, I'm surprised that they paid £20 million for him, given that since leaving Saints in May 2022, he has suffered a lot of injury issues and scored only 1 League goal in 43 games before joining Burnley, he makes Ross Steward look a bargain

I never really rated him. Bit like gabbiadini, he had a short purple patch with us and not much else, but some fans choose to remember him as better than he was.

Broja has an exceptionally low pain threshold, I don’t think his body is designed for professional sport as a minor injury keeps him out for months. I’d wager he hasn’t played many games over the years yet he has made a ridiculous amount of money.

For me it wasn't so much as remembering him being better than he was , it was more to do with the fact that his purple patch coincided with the last time we actually looked a decent Premier League side...I think we were upto 10th after beating Spurs away 3-2

.Obviously this was a brief glory period before the rot set back in and why we are where we are now.

What he had when he came here, like many players who come here on loan from bigger clubs, was a superior level of fitness and a willingness to run at the opposition goal, which made him stand out alongside our regular strikers. He also surprised opposition defences initially, as many youngsters do when they first appear on the scene.

I was talking to some Albanian supporters when they played England at Wembley, and they regarded him as a real superstar.

But a striker has to score goals and he doesn't any more.

The fact the rest of team didnt turn up for the 2nd half of that season was all down to Broja.

Dont ask me why but thats what Nick would have you believe.
