Reform packing their ranks full of the same Tories who failed miserably last time is a bold strategy for sure. Six months or so ago Farage was calling him a "fraud". Not sure if there's enough room in Reform for Nigel's ego and some other forceful personalities. Ask Rupert Lowe.
As for Bobby J, he's never really gotten over losing the leadership election to Badenoch, and her increasingly impressive performances in the House have probably left him wondering if he's going to get another chance any time soon.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
I predict an absolute cascade of defections to Reform U.K from all parties the closer it gets to the next general election.
Nothing like losing a seat to motivate someone to jump ship.
That’s a fair point, but these defections and the Damascus type conversions say a lot about the character of some of these politicians, shallow types whose primary focus is serving their own ambition.
Deform are looking more like the Tories every day.
Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Zahawi's defection has not gone down well with a lot of the Reform rank and file. They're basically becoming a retirement home for failed Tories and doing Badenoch's job of clearing out the losers for her.
No doubt a lot of the defections will be in hope of retaining their seat come the next election. If the Tories can come up with some decent, untainted by 2019-2024 candidates then it might not be the cakewalk Farage anticipated.

Maybe not so much, because they look like they are going to come from (your beloved party?) also just seen this.
QUOTE: "Reform UK's Chairman has revealed to GB News that they are expecting "imminent" defections from the Labour Party." Await a 'Red Wall' rush in the future?

There is an interesting phenomena going on here! The very people/types who played a major own-goal role to help push the Brexit referendum result past the winning line, have never ever learnt from/about their own mind blowing stupidity and lack of self awareness.
Ditto in the U.S with Hillary Clintons "Basket of deplorables" mindset, that resurfaced time and time again during the last U.S election.
Rule 1: Learn from mistakes Rule 2: Never forget rule one
The continuation, overuse, misuse and abuse of words like racist, Nazi, far-right, fascist, gammon, knuckle dragger, uneducated and thick etc have empowered Reform U.K no end.
I suggest the thickest of all, are the one's so unwitting, so void of common sense as to never ever realise how much they motivate millions to vote the complete and utter opposite way of what they wish for.
There is another forum, and its black-comedy surreal, because it shows how some people never learn, whilst proving that they are vastly thicker than the very people that they themselves call thick and look down upon. But there again? That's what makes it all so entertaining.

There's loads of it about.
The levels of arrogance and absolute unwillingness to understand that the foundations of what they believe the political World to be are being shattered beneath their feet will lead to a helluva wakeup call for some people eventually. Smears, insults, accusations, they just don't work anymore.
In my lifetime the general support for "right wing" political parties has rarely got above 40%. Current polling suggests that it's now above the 50% mark. Young men in particular are leaning far more rightwards than in years gone by. The collapse of the Red Wall should have given them some idea of what was happening, but they have blissfully ignored it.
As time goes on, when people can't afford a house, can't afford to start a family, see their incomes ever more heavily taxed whilst seeing those who don't work and contribute little getting handed stuff on a plate then those numbers will shift even more.
People are tired of being called racist for having concerns about mass migration and the increasing ghettoisation of society. Of being called bigots for questioning some hairy arsed pervert's insistence on being called a woman. Of paying through the nose for the basics of life because of "the environment" when the rest of the World is carrying on as normal.

Apparently wanting to have border control and vetting, sensible immigration numbers that a country can actually cope with and not wanting the epidemic/mass infiltration of South Wales by foreign drugs gangs that arrived via small boat(s)?
Well all that, apparently makes me "Nazi scum" who should be off the chanting mobs streets.

There is no serious, sensible case in favour of the kind of mass migration that we've seen so they go on the defensive and smear people instead. It's like a child losing an argument and calling you a "poo poo head". Same basic principle for most leftist causes.

How many times have you been called nazi scum? That’s awful.
Agree that the Tory defections are a double-edged sword for Reform, as too many failed ex-ministers doesn't look good. However, I wonder whether this is not so much an across the board exodus in a quest for survival, but the splitting of the right wing Tory faction from the more socially-liberal "wets". In fairness to Jenrick, he resigned after less than two months as Immigration Minister because he did not think Tory policies were tough enough, and in that respect many of us would say he was right. As we know now, the post-COVID surge in numbers was far bigger than we realised at the time.
Been doing a lot of thinking about this in recent months and little of it has convinced me of anything other than the reality that the UK has been hellishly stagnating for nigh on 30 years.
Britain in the mid to late 90's was a fun place to be. Culture was booming. The economy was in decent shape, albeit slowly improving after the ERM nonsense. You could still buy a house on the average income. You didn't need a degree for 95% of jobs. Actual ability and skills in employment was reflected in income. Migration was at manageable levels.
All that started to go to shit on 1st May 1997. Blair was smart enough to not do too much damage in his first term, but after that he hit the throttle big time, and the biggest failure of Cameron was that he did nowhere near enough to undo the damage of New Labour.

Jenrick explains in detail what has happened in the last 30 years. I don't like him but the facts are stark ( first five minutes )
Great speech by R J but I think he may come to regret jumping ship so quickly
He should have continued as an indepedent for a while and spoken to Rupert Lowe as he's got more in common with his ideals than Farage who will throw him under a bus at the first sign he's getting too popular...
What a clown, he has no answers, this is wrong that is wrong, the other is wrong since in 1970s, no sh*t sherlock, tell us something new, that goes back to Thatcher she ruined the country, Jenrick has been a Conservative all his life, we have just finished 14 years of them and he is as much at fault as the rest of them. Thatcher ruined the country, Blair to a lesser extent but he did not reverse her policies and its just got worse from then on. Labour and the Conservative administrations have been terrible for this country for a good few decades now.
Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.
