Finally got home from Oxford.I had the pleasure of standing next to Clive tonight and he was very busy writing down notes from notable episodes of the game, and the match report should be a belter.
A 3 hour drive down our various waterlogged motorways was still a more enjoyable experience than the 2nd half.

The number of events more important to discuss than tonight's game (Greenland, Minnesota, Ukraine - hello?) are numberless!

Poll: What d'ya expect from our last 3 holiday games (WBA(A), Norwich(H), Sheff W(H))?

Treacherous wind and rain. Watched it on demand. Happy with a point. Hope those who went had a bit of craic. Can't judge either team in those conditions

Poor game , not helped by our long injury list and Oxford being rubbish .
Yet to see a game between these two sides thats being anything but awful.
Plus points . Another clean sheet , Joe Walsh and another point closer to the play offs .
Negatives , a blunt attack and Esqerdinahs injury. A shame because he was having a good game .
One other plus point is I have put a certain poster on ignore because he’s making this forum about himself rather than other posters .
The s**t show that followed the Stoke game was embarrassing.

Good point about Joe Walsh - looked to have grown about a foot in stature and confidence to me. Let's hope he can really kick on as another promising youngster.

The game, however, matched our previous Oxford game in being of the worst standard imaginable.

Amusingly enough, your post shows you're doing exactly the same thing you allege I'm doing. Buy a mirror and you might catch onto your own irony!

The game was so poor, both teams looked hopeless to be honest. Conditions ddn't help but some really poor stuff smple passes kicked out of play. Not learning that a long ball towards the car park will just blow out of play but we kept doing it.

Up there with one of the worst football matches I've ever seen.

Kudos to those who went. It was painful enough watching from the comfort of my sofa with the heating whacked up.

On to the next one...

The weather did look stinking - very well done to those who went.

Didn't we need to try to do adapt our play a bit more to the conditions though? The pitch looked better than ours these days and certainly well watered.

What has happened to trying to find a player in midfield, play through the thirds, all of that? Far far too many times you saw one of our CBs knocking it long into the channel for Bennie to scamper onto, or Kone to try to get it to stick. That now seems to be the plan - turn the opposition, build higher up.

I hate the fcuking about at the back fulcrum stuff too, but couldn't we use that game to remember the happy medium? I don't buy injuries as an excuse not to do that last night because our starting 11 looked perfectly competitive in terms of the opposition. And again I think we're in danger of forgetting how to play in the more balanced way we had shown at times earlier in the season.

pouring rain, strong winds, poor ref ( he lost it 2nd half) not exactly ideal for entertaining footy but a game there for the taking. walsh made a top save to keep us 0-0 in 2nd half and injuries pile up .
gotta say well done to those who went , very loud on tv and little to rouse us.

Im actually contemplating giving up coming on here down to his holier than thou attitude.

Its bad enough my football team is playing particularly awful atm but to have this knut continually stirrng up our woes, ridiculing our manager, belittling our coms guy/team/interviews is becoming depressing, making an angry side i didnt know I had come out.

I know you like an intellectual challenge but you are ruining this site for many of us normal folk.

QPR good or bad for 60 years is like a part of my life and having you hammering down after every awful performance I take as a personal insult to our tribe. YOU ARE NOT PART OF OUR TRIBE.

Yep absolutely agree about the match.
At the end of it last night.
I told my wife that in 62yrs of detaching Rsngers I have seen hundreds of matches and that one was in the top 5 of the worst 😑

Heaven forbid the guy who writes the great and detailed reports takes notes. I bet if he didn't and they were inaccurate, the same person would be moaning about that with some witty retort, only they find funny. So desperate to be noticed, they don't even make sense now

I was very cautious last night about rushing to judgement with so many injuries and appalling weather conditions, but I thought we could have:

1. Showed better shape and more intention in attacking phases of play. I thought we moved the ball forward in hope more than expectation.
2. Adapted our tactics when it was becoming clearer and clearer they were not working against a very poor team
3. Executed some of the basics more effectively. It was technically one of the worst matches I have ever watched!

There are Rangers games - not many - where I (50yrs, 16st) will turn to my wife and kids after about an hour and say, with a straight face "I reckon I could still be a professional footballer..." - this game was one of them.

All would have been beneficial. I thought the conditions, timing, snd tbe injury list made it attritional and low quality.

The single thing id have wanted us to be better at is making better choices when the rare promising situations developed. Particular example at end when Vale kicked the ball to spring a 3 on 3 counter, but there were others. We almost always chose the wrong or a rushed option. In games like these yoi have to make them count.

Those are situations that you can take reps in training for and you need a cool head during games for.

Flew in for it all the way from Cleveland OH. Overnight flights Monday, train up to Oxford, sat in Oxford end, stayed overnight in Oxford including a miserable wait in the rain for the bus back. the other game ive managed this season was…Oxford at home. Which I think might have been even worse….
