| So what do we think about Peretz? 11:51 - Feb 1 with 4056 views | Butty101 | For me early impressions are that hes an upgrade on Baz. Positives He looks confident and commands his area. dosent look like a little boy in goal. Has only conceded 1 goal in 3 games. Negatives Looks like he has a mistake in him | |

I think with him in goal we've finally found our leader at the back . It's no coincidence that since he came in our results and clean sheets have massively improved. He's not perfect by any means but if he was he'd unlikely be at a Championship club.

Completely agree with this Is he totally faultless no, but the uptick in our form after his arrival is no coincidence at all and if that was Tondas call to move Baz on then he has got a good idea on how we can be better [Post edited 8 Mar 23:27]

Agreed, we judge keepers by clean sheets. I think he is a big upgrade on both Baz & Macca, he's vocal & his defenders know that he's there. But, the clean sheets coincide with the switch from three ctr backs to two ctr backs & conventional full backs. That change with Peretz in goal has made a huge difference not just defensively but to the shape of the side. Give Tonda credit for sorting that out.

The switch to a back 4 happened because the return of Bree and the arrival of Larin means we can finally put a bit of physicality on the pitch and defend set pieces. Without them we'd still be playing 3 centre backs. Peretz has definitely helped us be more solid at the back too, and I expect he'll improve from here. He's only 25 which is young for a keeper and he's very inexperienced. In the 3 years before he joined us he only played 5 games in that time and there's no way he would have been used to the rough and tumble of English football. For my money, he's adjusted quickly. As he gets more experience and confidence I think he'll dominate his area more and make smarter, calmer decisions. The one weakness he won't lose is his limited skill with his feet, but I can live with that.

Yes, our new physicality is definitely helping us, Bree doesn’t get pushed around and him and Clarin in our box at corners and set pieces have made us much more resilient. But Peretz has really had an impact, he's a leader at the back, he shouts and harrangs his defenders helping them to concentrate on the dangers. He's physical and commanding the total opposite to Baz. If he keeps improving till the end of the season we should make him permanent. IMHO. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Not really, he’s totally changed our season and it’s less than a Damian downs
