Possibly as a relatively high proportion of the fanbase come from 15 miles or more away from the city.

No they don't. Clubs the same size as us in the Championship - Middlesbrough, Birmingham, Leicester, Derby.... don't sell out their midweek games, any more than we do. |  |

I am conflicted on this. I understand Nick's frustrations as we all want sell out crowds to roar on the team to promotion and there is a view, just get yourself there. It's true that the kids are at school, and for some it is quite stressful when you have work, all a big rush. People will make an exception for huge games but as a general rule, a game on tv in the evening people decide it's too stressful, especially if they don't live in Southampton.
However, I will be there, and took the kids in the evening, and when I was a kid I went in the evening. I was just a bit tired the next day, so what? It's arguable people have gone soft, but it's money as well. People have to pick and choose a bit, and they choose not to attend game.in the evening on tv. The ganes are coming thick and fast and PatFromPoole mentioned that kids for a fiver and adults for a tenner would encourage more in. There are a lot of games coming up, and it's expennsive for a family. [Post edited 12 Apr 15:18]
