Thats not exactly what I said, I said black and white stripes is synonymous with Newcastle and that it is their iconic look.
Of course Newcastle have deviated before not least an abomination in the 1980's which was sort of half full stripe and half pin strip if my memory is correct.
This kit seems to take it's inspiration from last seasons 1976-80 retro kits, ie a couple of thick stripes with some small stripes each side.
Not a great kit in my opinion, but at least it still has stripes in it, thats the trouble when you have owners who have no real affinity to a club and it's history |  |

Are the owners responsible for the kit then?
I thought that the established principle on here was that all these sorts of things get delegated down to the relevant departments within the Club.
E.g. Ticket pricing at Saints will not be determined by the ownership of Sport Republic. |  |

I would doubt that the owners get involved, my point was more about the fact that leadership comes from the top, if the owners arent bothered, then those running the club day to day arent bothered either. | |
