Harrison Reed will turn 32 in January, last season he started just 1 game for Fulham in the Premier League plus 6 off the bench, he was an unused sub 22 times.
I'm not sure what he would bring us in the fact that after Charles left we lack strength and power in the centre of the park, we need to replace Charles with someone who has a bit of physical presence ie over 6ft, we have a number of central midfielders who are not big and strong, we need to plug that gap |  |

From where I was sitting in the Itchen stand my impression was that Stoke are a poor championship side and the frustration that has been aired about the vocal support was largely down to the fact that until the final few minutes we made heavy weather of beating a poor Stoke team.
For me, most of that was down to an effective midfield, with the exception of Downes.
The slight worry being that we don't look like we were ready for the start of the season and we have played one reasonable championship side - but nothing special but lost, and managed to "just" beat a poor championship side. The real test will start to come this Saturday against Millwall, and beyond. I didn't see any Stoke players that I think would add quality to our team but I am not saying I am right. I may have missed something.
All that said, I have faith in Tonde to get the best he can out of the players he has. It is whether we have the right players to get us to the place that we all want the club to ultimately get to. | | | |
