| A game of chance, for fun on 19:16 - Oct 14 with 1153 views | pencoedjack | I talk to fans of other clubs on a regular basis most think we are not in a false position (including a Millwall fan today). Our squad unlike previous seasons is very good, I’m expecting the play offs as a minimum 👍 | | | |
| A game of chance, for fun on 19:19 - Oct 14 with 1140 views | Joesus_Of_Narbereth | We’ll inevitably have a downturn at some point. It will all come down to how we react to that. Encouraging thing is we were averaging almost 2 points a game under Matos last season too. If we can stay anywhere near that we’re looking 85-90 points. | |

| A game of chance, for fun on 20:02 - Oct 14 with 1026 views | JJBomber | We will have a bad patch somewhere in the season, say 3 or 4 games without a win. How we react to that will be the important thing. It is difficult to shut out all that noise and ignore the stinking thinking. It's a brilliant league but also a very tough league. Rough figures, but at least 4 teams are expecting automatic promotion with 12 expecting to be in the play-offs. We're only a quarter of the way into the season, but it is looking good! | | | |
| A game of chance, for fun on 20:05 - Oct 14 with 1022 views | Whiterockin | Its not a false position because its exactly where we are. We can probably come close to maintaining the level because of the squad debth we have, we are not reliant on one or two star players, one picks up an injury another slots in. We make changes during a game and it doesn't really weaken the team on the pitch. I certainly feel we could average close to the 2 points a game mark for the rest of the season. | | | |

If we keep Matos and the squad, plus a couple of improvements in January and no major departures its quite possible. We are in our best position on and off the pitch for many a year.
| A game of chance, for fun on 20:51 - Oct 14 with 915 views | jack247 | Not in any way a false position, but it’s not one we would have expected ourselves, so you can see how fans of other clubs who are quite often biased and don’t watch much of us would think that. As others have said, we will inevitably have a bad patch at some stage, but we 100% deserve to be where we are right now. | | | |

I don't know but I'm more in line with WR in that our squad depth is really superior to about all of the Championship clubs. Let's talk about this after we play West Ham, Middlesbrough, and Wolves. Our only loss is to Southampton who has higher odds than us to win the league. So, have we learned from that defeat? 94 points. Here's what I stated on Sept 24, timestamped 23:45, on the thread, "Supercomputer Predictions": I believe. I believe we have the talent both raw and experienced, excellent squad depth, a savvy manager, great fans, and the best owners. I'm predicting 28-10-8, 94 points. It will be a dogfight for the top two auto-qualifiers with WHam and Wolves with Swans being in the mix, maybe Middlesbrough but I think we have more depth than they do, maybe more depth than Wolves and WHam.

This is where I am to be honest. We’ve only played one ‘six pointer’ to date and we lost that. Saturday will give us a better idea and after we play Wolves and Boro. That’s not to discount QPR at the moment also. There are at least 5 clubs who’d say they are top 2 candidates and we can’t argue with that. Do we have the ability and more importantly the testicular fortitude to keep this up? As others have said, how will we react to the likely downturn in results if / when it happens? Also, are we scoring enough goals? I don’t think we are for our position which could mean an inferior GD to others and make games more nerve wracking if we are leading by the odd goal. It’s great so far but there’s a lot of games to come and consistency will be essential.

It's going to come down to our players vs. their players. Our manager's game plan vs. their manager's game plan. Do our players believe in themselves, believe that they're as good as or better than their players? I know our defense is better. If our midfield is playing to their true potential, our midfielders are better. I think we have more athleticism and depth (way more, imo) than WHam up top. The big difference is that certain WHam players have more top level experience vs. ours. This will be a great game! '

We have several players with big match experience having recently played in the WC, this could play a part as the atmosphere will be off the scale.

My major concern is dispite having good quality strikers we haven’t been scoring a freely as I’d like , all games are different, different conditions team line ups etc but I’d do think we could be scoring more than we do . A win is a win but it would be nice to see our goal average improve.

Yes it is and Matos manages rotation very well. Eusatquio is probably the only player we can’t cover. We’ve got players who can play in his position, but no one who can do what he does. We’ve got at least two quality players who can slot in for each other everywhere else. Even then, we’ve won the two games he’s missed, albeit with less fluid performances. 2.3 points per game is definitely not sustainable over a season. That’s PSG and Bayern numbers and they don’t have serious competition. Yes I agree, we’ll know where we are after we’ve played the top teams. I’ll start considering us automatic contenders if we win tomorrow though.

The goals are now being scored throughout the team instead of just the striker, for me that is a massive improvement.

Something a lot of us have wanted for years. You can take any of the front three out and replace them with quality. We haven’t often had that.

That was in his first season, where we lost to Brentford in the semis,I think Keith is talking of the following season where we were riding high in the league then we lost Gibbs White
