| Newcastle v Sunderland now a bubble 17:20 - Oct 19 with 912 views | 1ASIN12 | https://www.safc.com/news/2026 After last season games where both fixtures fans could travel how they wished, this season Sunderland fans have a reduced allocation and being made to travel on coaches. As far as I’m aware there was no wide scale disorder last season? [Post edited 19 Oct 17:34]

| Newcastle v Sunderland now a bubble on 17:58 - Oct 19 with 837 views | InTimeAddedOn | I think it was more by luck than judgement last season, I saw a couple of lengthy videos on YouTube shot by a Newcastle fan covering both the home and away games and it was barely organised chaos at times with the police struggling to but just about keeping the rival fans apart. Remember thinking at the time that will probably ‘bubble up’ next season. Also, a Newcastle fan I know well said that the general consensus at the start of last season was it was probably only going to be a one-off as Sunderland would be odds on to go straight back down but as that has not happened they are now taking a more cautious approach this season. | | | |

PL rules are 3000 or 10%, so struggle to see how they got away with giving only 2200 to Sunderland, unless it was Police advice

Yeah be police advice. Think both teams got around 2500 last season.

I saw a couple of videos myself and it seems that when Newcastle went to Sunderland, it was easier to manage as those that went by Metro were taken to a station near the Stadium of Light and so not in the city centre, so they could easily escort them the short distance to the ground. But for Sunderland going to Newcastle it was a lot harder, because the train station is in the City centre and they had to be escorted right through the city centre and there were a lot of flashpoints
