Watching Como thrash Man Utd in the champions league got me thinking how far they've come in the last few years. It wasn't that long ago when they signed a player from us on loan.
I was really impressed by Como this evening. Without the ball they closed down space quickly in a high press, with it they were always moving the ball quickly to players running into space behind static midfielders and defenders.
A wonderful watch, and not just because I'll never tire of Man Utd getting bummed. Como reminded me of Bielsa's Bilbao side, which also ripped into Man Utd a decade or so ago.
Hate the bit where they keep panning to the United away end and how it is emptying. "Best fans in the country", always so loyal, blah blah blah blah blah, getting soaked, blah blah.
Yeah, they travel to Como and other European places to watch Fernandes and Mbuemo.
What about going to Grimsby on a Tuesday night with Steve Slade upfront? I know who are the more admirable fans.
When Flavio Briatore said he wanted to QPR to be a 'boutique' club, Como 1907 is probably what he had in mind. Problem is, a stadium on the edge of the White City estate doesn't scream 'boutique' in the same way a stadium on the shore Lake Como does!

So I think we're at the big name, experienced, no-nonsense ball breaker to whip these players into shape stage of things now. Conte?
Followed of course by the promising, progressive up and comer, and then the club legend. Maybe Neville's turn next time.
Hearing the fall out between players and management is hilarious.
There's a reason Bruno Fernandes has never made it to the absolute top of the game, the bloke can't run. Having him in midfield is playing with 10 men defensively.
Any team that can press effectively, and pass sharply with movement, is going to absolutely thrash that shower Utd have put together.
I just saw on PaddyPower that 9 nine years ago Como were playing against amateurs and it seems like nothing has changed after last night’s performance.
