Championship Positives? 11:29 - Apr 8 with 2610 viewsTrom

Whilst nobody wants relegation baring mathematical miracles we look to be down. Whilst I have a times enjoyed our stint in the prem' (with some notable highlights) on the whole the lack of wins has made it hard work.

So that got me thinking about whether there are any positives of being back in the champ and I came up with:

1. More games (especially mid week)
2. Hopefully more wins
3. Less changing of games for TV
4. Watch MOTD again (I just tend to delete it when we loose)
5. A chance to rebuild the squad
6. Palace away (short walk for me)
7. Trip to Brightons new ground
8. Less negative media coverage
9. Possibility of a promotion push season (Warnocks promotion season was dreamland).

Any others?

True but unlikely both (play off's at best) and both seem to have dipped in form of late.

No Fulham/Chelsea to put six past us.

Lose loads of these horrible expensive waste of skin players.

More midweek games so we can keep form going or put right a bad result quicker.

Less international break/cup scheduling gaps.

Get to find out once and for all if TF is commited to us if we go down.

Puts the new stadium talk on the back burner for a bit.

No Mark Lawrenson/Alan Shearer/Garth Crooks.

ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH MARTI THE REDEEMER WHO STRENGTHENS ME.

Hopefully might start to enjoy my football again instead of paying through the nose and getting fk all back in return.

1. Being able to aspire to something more than mid table respectability
2. Being able to (hopefully) enjoy promotion without a scandal hanging over us that may take it away hence not being able to celebrate it properly at the time.
3. No more pain in the arse 4 o'clock Sunday kick-offs

Cheaper tickets (wait for those soothsayers who will tell me that ST tickets are going up)
Better away days where the opposition are proper football fans as opposed to the prawn sandwich brigades.
No trip to Old Trafford, fighting your way through thousands of football tourists taking f**king pictures of themselves outside the ground.
Quicker getaways from away grounds as the crowds are smaller.
See your team compete in a competition that they actually could win (and this would apply to 16 other teams in the PL).

Poll: Where will Clive put QPR in his new season preview

a return to friday night games and saturday tea time games, a return to some dreadful football at high prices oh the joy

i think that one excellent season under warnock has wiped a lot of memories of the 15 years before that

While there are alot of things wrong with the over-hyped premier league, I guarantee any positives about the championship will quickly turn into negatives on this board should the R's look like they are not making a shift return to the top flight.

Keeping Adel and Loic, winning the league with 100+ points and generally f*cking up everyone in sight...

For me the positives are middlesboro, Sheffield w, Sheffield U (maybe), Doncaster (maybe), Huddersfield (hopefully), hull (maybe), Leeds, Sunderland (maybe), Barnsley (hopefully), derby and forest....

Sorry selfish of me.....

If I'm honest there are no positives.

We've had a great chance to make a big impression in one of the most important leagues in the world and ensure that this club grows into one with the stature to survive under it's own steam.

And we've totally ballsed it up.

Away trip to Barnsley hopefully.

In 30 years of following this great club of ours, the away trip to Barnsley in our promotion season is up there with the best of them

Listen, Juventus got demoted seasons back for irregularities and kept every single one of their players in the 2nd division. They were all internationals and they got about 3000 points the next season and came back massively stronger and confident. Don't be so sure that all the better players will leave. They are well looked after here and it may be that they take the drop to get everything right. If it f*cks up they leave in the January window perhaps.

Either that or we sell everyone and start yet again.

Never knowingly right.

Being able to buy a non-restricted view seat in the R Block.
Not getting punished every time the defence cocks up.
Not dreading away fixtures against the biggest teams in the division.

I am looking forward to two things.

1. Hope - Not had any since West Ham at home when the realisation struck just how bad we were. with months to go to the transfer window

2. Tuesday nights under the lights

Eeven if we keep all the players I don;'t think we would get 100 points... The championship isnt that much easier and we have made ridiclous mistakes time and again.. That would happen next season as well

HOWEVER I don't want us to rebuild completely again as we have done every transfer window for the last 6 years

Agreed, that was an amazing night. Ref was the biggest homer I'd ever seen, never been so tense at a game but somehow we held on for the win. Warnock and the players totally chuffed at the end, really felt like promotion that night.
