Vestergaard & Romeu on 17:29 - Oct 25 with 721 views | SaintNick | Romeu protecting the back four is working, but what we have is two players who are sticking to the task in hand and who know who they should be marking and that is an improvement. They are starting to find their confidence and that is good, but we need Salisu to put pressure on them for their places

We have slowly weeded out players who weren't up to the task, still some more to go, then we will have a good squad who will play for each other, there are quite a few youngsters who could play a big role this season

Do you think Obafemi has fallen down the pecking order? noticed he was absent from the bench today.

N'Lundulu looks like he has taken his place. He looked a strong, physical player didn't he. Always remember Ralph saying about Obefemi's attitude being poor. Seems like he has been dropped for good. [Post edited 25 Oct 2020 18:04]

I wouldnt say good, but clearly Ralph things Obafemi has gone backwards a little and Tella and N Lundulu are ahead of him, good to see we have some youngsters still coming through

N lundulu looked like a Kenwyn Jones type player, but he also some speed on him when he came on. He looked like a real presence up front. He could be good. Obefemi and Tella seem a bit light weight.

Vestergaard & Romeu on 00:34 - Oct 26 with 518 views | TimSaint | I haven't been a big fan of Vest, especially against teams with pace, but his performances in the last few weeks have been good - and Everton's style suited him today. Likewise with Romeu. Has made a few errors and is good for a yellow, but he was tremendous today. Perhaps they have both realised that they want to play for and be part of the team - but as we now have new players who play in their positions, they have to play well to keep their places. Healthy competition for places !! I think Long feels the same, but needs more than his usual 5 mins to impress. Not sure if it is true, but I'm sure I saw somewhere that Oba was suspended.

Last season, there were a lot of similarities between Adams and Obefemi. Lots of running and often not quite in the right place at the right time. The difference was that Adams had a much higher work rate and energy level, and it is paying off with performances of note. Obafemi always looks like a stop gap at the end of the game. When Long comes on in that role, you can still expect something to happen, headers won, a quick burst of pace to scare the opposition. You have to force yourself into the game. None of that from Obafemi unfortunately. He is probably Championship level.
